David Tua did 12 rounds vs Lennox

and Vitali did 6 rounds and his face was messed up.

    David Tua is definitly underrated.

1.) Lennox Lewis didn't even hurt TUA that much if at all

2.) Vitali faced a Unfit/Unprepared Lennox who still smahed his face up

Terrible thread. I like Tua, but this thread makes no sense at all.

I'm just tired of David being underrated and people calling him one dimensional...

Tua was underated, but he was also one-dimensional. What makes you think he had varied dimensions to his boxing?

    Lewis schooled Tua.

    He didn't school Vitali.

Just because vitalis' eye was a mess doesn't mean he got a worse beating than tua or that tua is better.

Tua has never even won a belt before. That speaks volumes about his ability especially in the mediocre Heavyweight Division the past 10 years or so.

Agreed. Vitali was taller and easier for Lewis to headbutt is all.

Seriously though, Tua was pretty static and unimpressive against Lewis. Far from his best for sure.

So Klitschko's eye getting cut = Tua is an unappreciated multi-faceted boxer? Astonishing trial in logic.

Tua was ahead on the scorecarda after a single round. And if the logic of Vitali fans holds, once you are ahead on the scorecards, no matter how many rounds may be left, you must be the true winner. If the ref would have done his job and stopped the fight after Tua reached his insurmountable lead on the cards, Tua would be world champion. In other news, the sky is pink, and James Toney is down to 125lbs.

Tua was (and is) slightly underrated, but no he did not do better than Vitali. Vitali had a lot of success against a lesser version of Lewis, whereas Tua really struggled to impose himself or close distance.

Tua did a better defensive job at times, but it was to the detriment of his offence.

Tua took no chances against Lewis, while Vitali waded right in. Vitali tried to win and took chances. Tua went long periods not throwing any punches. He let his big opportunity slip away by coming in fat, and being too concerned with protecting himself. The Tua who fought Ikeubichi would have had a chance to win. The version who fought Lewis was just in to survive.

Tua looked awful against Lewis. He seemed completely clueless in the ring.

That was one of the most disappointing performances in Tua's career.
