Shavers couldn't even KD Cobb, so it's unlikely he KOs Tua.

No, I can think of a couple of punchers that could hurt Tua. Rahman for one.

Meh. Anyone around that weight can punch if they have the right physical and stylistic attributes. Wilder weighed in at 214lbs when he KOed Ortiz so it's clearly not a requirement to be a huge, muscle bound freak to get a top level KO in the HW division.

I think Shavers is overrated as a puncher, but he wrung every ounce of power from his smallish frame that he was able to, and would certainly be capable of hurting almost any HW fighting today. Then again, I think the same thing about Marco Huck, so take that for what it's worth.

Not true imo. Thanks could close the gap. Vs Lewis he just didn't seem relentless enough to do it more than 10 seconds at a time.
Against Byrd he stayed pretty close for most of the fight, but again just didn't throw enough punches

His feet weren't even close to Tyson's.

Or having the balance to throw while moving those feet.

And it'd be a left hook only==not a right hand or anything else moving those feet. Fight off his toes? Nope. So a guy could prepare for him and like Lewis, nullify the left hook. Then, what do you have with a David Tua if you nullify his left hook?

That's true but it's not true that he couldn't reach Lewis. He could gap long distances in short bursts. Problem was he didn't do the enough. He would burst quickly and throw a hook and then plod for an entire round. His plodding speed was slow but he could in fact move quickly when he wanted to.

Lewis vs Tua was similar to Spinks vs Braxton just more one sided. However like Qawi found Spinks power ,skills and physical advantages too much so did Tua. Despite Qawi performance nobody ever questioned Qawi as timid and so should Tua be held in same regard.

Yep. I think there was a huge left hook by Ibeabuchi too exactly at the end of round, stumbling Tua a bit. Nevertheless, he just turned back to his corner. Tua definately could take punch.

Qawi didn't have Tuas fight ending 1 punch power. Tua was a puncher who could turn a fight around with one punch and Lewis had been knocked out with one punch before

I don't think Tua's inactivity, especially through the second half of the fight, was dictated by his fear for his chin. I'm pretty sure he was scared for getting tired quickly because he was terribly out of shape in that fight

He was in much better shape against Byrd than he was against Lewis. And it was still 12-15 lbs over his optimal weight

He just wasn't able to attack constantly being so much overweight in that fight. And he looked similarly lethargic against Rahman rematch at the similar weight
