While the left hook was no doubt his best punch he was actually a great two fisted hitter. Good at cutting off the ring and effective at going to the body too. At times you see shades of Mike Tyson.

He should'a been the champ. Starched Ruiz, Moorer, Maskaev and Rahmen, but his only shot was against the magnificent Lennox Lewis.

If he didn’t get so fat he could’ve made some waves, if he learnt to not just cover up so much MOVE YER HEAD… I’m nobody but I’m just saying what I saw.

Yes, I think his overhand right is underrated.

And contrary to what many have said, Tua actually had some good moments in that fight

    Great video.

I think Tua has some serious issues. He was very overweight for his height. I don't think he was a legit 5'10. Maybe more like 5'8.

His weight was way too high. He should have been maximum 215-220 lbs.

He could have won a belt. How the hell did Ruiz get a belt but not Tua?

I agree he had more than a left hook. His right hook on Moorer was amazing. He had a strong left uppercut that he could double up on.

Some of my favourite fantasy match ups are Tua vs Sanders and Tua vs Brewster.

Overall, one of the ten best heavies to never win a title.

Only for the first half he did. Impressive for somebody who had a rib injury and spent half his training playing table tennis with his coach nontheless

I met Tua in AC. I'm 6 foot and he's definitely in the 5'10 range. He actually looked physically small in person but when I saw him in the ring the next day he had that physically large presence. Intimidating looking in the ring.

Interesting. Based on what i can see on film, he looks more like 5'8 to 5'9 but since you have met him, you are probably right. Regardless, i don't see how he can justify weighing over 220 lbs.

Agree about the weight. So many times he showed up fat in **** poor condition. He was way fat against Lewis.

In truth he did have a lot of muscle mass. And from what I’m told the Samoa culture tends to produce larger boned and robust men like that.

Polynesians (including Samoans, Tongans, Fijians, etc.) are very sporty and large people, and most Poly athletes play in contact sports like Rugby, Footy and NFL. From where I live, Sydney, you can find alot of Polys. They are very nice people with great hospitality, from my experience
