    How does he do against:
    Rocky
    Walcott
    Charles
    old Louis
    Layne
    Valdez
    and others?

Not mythical Tua that would've beaten any HW in sports history, but solid contender who beat 4 beltholders and few contenders and lost to Ike, Lewis and Byrd.

Walcott and Charles would have outboxed him, I feel Louis would have landed a lot but would have been stopped, Marciano`s infighting would be too much for Tua, he was just a better fighter, if Tua did KO Rock he would be behind on points Marciano would land a lot more punches.

He would have come up short just like he did in his own era.

He might have been unlucky to share an era with Lennox Lewis, but he was not unlucky to share and era with Chris Byrd and Hasim Rahman.

This is just the kind of fighter that you have to be able to beat to get to the top, even in a weak era.

Smart answer. Because the fellows he would have to fight here are very similar to Ibeabuchi and Lennox Lewis.

    Charles/Louis Ghost = Ibeabuchi; Rocky = Lewis

I could see Tua knocking out Valdez and maybe Layne, but losing to Walcott, Charles, and even an old Louis. Tua had the power, but his poor handspeed and stamina would really work against him in the 50's. Tua also didn't put combinations together that well against elite competition.

They are not, but they are somewhat similar to Chris Byrd.

Plenty of that kind of fighter around!

Tua hype is crazy! He was a solid contender with a big punch, who lost all of his biggest fights while KOing other contenders. People fall in love with power on here for some reason...we have way to many Tua and shavers threads on a monthly basis.

Tua would beat many other contenders across a variety of eras and he would fall short in
Most of his Step Up to top comp fights. There is no shame in being very good, not sure why some people perceive him as a borderline great. Oh well

Tua's no great but I like his chances against those guys, especially if he brings his A-game.

Tua beats Marciano, whose style is tailor-made for him. Tua at his best hits much harder than Marciano, is more durable, just as skilled, and can match him in punch output.

Tua punches a hole through Ezzard Charles or knocks his block off.

Walcott could be interesting, if Joe fights to survive and Tua falls into one of his Tua trances.

Great post! Those guys in the 50s were always fighting boxers who were solid muscle and weighed 225-250, and a 6-5 guy like Lewis would just be common place.

Tua's era was much, much stronger. He does better in those softer times. Old Louis, Layne and the free swinging Charles would be dust.

Marciano would hang tuff but his defensive holes and lesser strength would be his undoing sooner or later.

Walcott would have the best chance to take Tua, especially if this disinterested David arrives.

Valdes would be light work for Tua.

Tua touches them, and they explode into bits.

I have long considered Rex Lane to be a white Lennox Lewis
