I doubt that Lewis would have cracked the top 35 back then.

IS Tua allowed his roided 90s body to compete in the 50s?

I get the feeling you haven’t met many Samoans.

That might be relevant if Tua was beating the best contenders of his era, but he wasn't!

Nobody ranked in the top ten, is going to be light work for Tua!

Every 90s heavyweight is pretty much guaranteed to be on steroids except Tua because Pacific Islanders bro. Tyson is also exempt because look at when he was 12 years old bro. Cus Domino bro.

And not many Sioux Indians either. I was at a bar once in Wolf Point, in the Fort Peck reservation in Montana. I'm 6'2" and I was the smallest, thinnest guy in the room. And some of the women were bigger than me as well.
And, I'm sorry to report, many of them were very drunk (I left after one beer; was getting too many stink eye looks). In fact the BIA was dropping off drunken Indians at the bar.

These guys were BIG. I've often wondered how a well trained Native American would do in the ring. Joe Hipp is the only one I can think of.

So you think Don ****ell (ranked as high as #2 in 1954) would be hard work for Tua?

Virgil Hill and Danny Lopez were American Natives, I think. Tommy Morrison too.

You're getting into Elizabeth Warren territory here. I wouldn't have called Morrison "Pocahontas" to his face.
I'm talking about walking off a reservation into a ring.

Joe Hipp was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. His mother was a full blood tribe member.

Other guys like Danny and Ernie Lopez were mostly Indian. You are correct about Virgil Hill. I bet there were other guys as well.

    Some other references:

"Active today we find World WBA lightweight champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios, 34-3-1 (25), now at of Oxnard, CA, and heavyweight John Wesley Nofire, 20-1 (16) from the Cherokee Nation in OK now out of Miami, FL, along with female boxer Sonja Fox, 7-0 (2), of McLaughlin, SD. Little known Emerson Chasing Bear, 5-4-2 (3), of Rapid City, SD, was more known for his amateur career then spending five years in the professional ranks from 2007 to 2012. Shawn “The Sioux Warrior” Hawk, 23-3-1 (17), retired in 2012 after challenging for the WBO light heavyweight title losing to Nathan Cleverly."

If he wasn't, then it would be by far the best win on Tua's resume!

He would have beaten somebody, not only in the top ten, but in the top two, presumably uncontroversially!

This is the thing that people don't get:

Tua was not the Cockell or the Valdez of the 90s.

He was the guy who came up short, whenever he met the Cockell or the Vadez, at the top of their respective games!

That is all that he really was!

Why do you think we don't get it? Those who challenge your opinion are not a bunch of fools, who need to be educated by you - though your clearly think so!

So let's not beat round the bush then: By your boxrec/Ring rankings-based logic, Tua almost certainly loses to Cockell, right? So would you actually stay faithful to the logic of your argument and follow it to its logical conclusion, and pick Cockell to beat Tua?
