Why should he? Wlad's next fight will probably take place in Germany.Difficult to sell a fighter to the German market who had to go 10 rounds with both Robert Hawkins and Talmadge Griffis in his last fights. Hawkins was brutally knocked out by German based Vladimir Virchis in the 5th round of their encounter, and Griffis was almost murdered by German based cruiser weight Alexander Alexeev in two rounds. Tua needs some convincing victories against some good and known names
He should fight david haue,****ing hell imagine that fight, blink and it may well be all over(as haye has his head decapitated hehe, only kidding)
Tua most certainly will not get a shot at Wlad. Wlad still has that "chin" thing to worry about and if Tua has anything, it's a shitload of power.
you guys act like tua hasnt had opportunities...damn near EVERY fighter in the DIVISION has called him out, and he rejected em so that he can sit around eating doughnuts all days and fight the sherman williams of the world once a year for the rest of his life.
it's hard to determine if tua can even hang with peter at this point. the guy hasn't had much of a competitive opponent in years. he should fight a decent b- level guy as soon as possible. tua ain't getting any younger.
There are a lot of boxers who get a title shot, but aren't probably the most deserving. If you look at Tua's career, he went something like 38-1 before he had a chance for a championship title, and they put him up against Lennox Lewis. Tua had already beaten Rahman, Ruiz, and Maskaev all of whom became champions. You got guys these days with 16-0 records getting title shots and having no named opponents in their resume. People criticize Tua for not having a championship belt, well, it takes more than just the fighter to have a chance to fight for a belt, it also takes the boxing organizations to allow it. Perhaps, Tua should have had stronger managers, and since he was from New Zealand, that may have also affected his chances. But it's not fair to judge Tua's career solely on the fact that he never won a championship belt which so many boxing critics often focus on. There are many champions today in several divisions who have championship belts and undefeated records, and yet have no named opponents under their resume. It's a shame the double-standards applied to Tua.
