This is a tough one for me, I see it as a close decision or a draw, both men had solid chins and power and both could be out-boxed but were not boxers, both were not particularly fast but could flurry quickly such as Tua vs Ruiz and Mercer vs Morrison...I think this one goes to the cards and that is were I can not make the call so I go with a draw

Mercer actually had a very good jab.

Speedy fighters could give Mercer fits. Tua is short and not excatly fast. Tua's best chance only chance to win is via KO, and since Mercer had an A+ chin that is not very likely. I see a decision for Mercer.

I agree that Mercer's jab was very good.

Mercer would have given Tua a boxing leason.

It depends on the day. Tua was inconsistent and Mercer was very inconsistent.

It depends on the day but on there best day a close fight, Mercer had a decent Jab but IMO Tua had the edge in power, common opponents were Lennox & Mercer fought him closer but in this fight I think there would be more fighting than running and would really be interesting

Mercer wins, he's bigger , a better boxer, and the more skillful of the 2, and his chin is just as good if not better..
    Ray by comfortable decision..

Ray Mercer has been knocked out TWICE and knocked down NUMEROUS TIMES has a better chin than David Tua who has NEVER been knocked out and knocked down only once? And this is DESPITE the fact that Tua fought in 15 MORE PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS THAN MERCER! Yeah you're not the brightest bulb in the basement buddy.

Oh FFS pull Tuas **** out of your ass

Tua was never that good. He never beat a single durable fighter his whole career. Moorer, Maskaev, Rahman, all guys with dodgy chins.

Compare Mercers results against Lewis and Tuas

Mercer was stopped by Wladmir Klitscko, how did Tua do against Wladmir?

    now go away.

 What an idiot, you tried to make your point based on who Tua has fought then you mention Wladimir Klitschko like he's some sort of ATG. Instead of trying to bring Tua down by downgrading the guys he's knocked out. TAKE A LOOK AT WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO'S OPPOSITION YOU ****ING ASSLICKER! These simple minded shitheads really crack me up.

This is a great match up. If they were to meet at their very best I gotta lean slightly towards Tua. I think Tua for a couple years in his career was really one of the top heavyweights in the world, Mercer was always amongst the top heavyweights in the world as well but I feel Tua had more tools and better stamina. They both had great chins and are both hittable. I'd expect Mercer to have great success with his jab. But Tua I think wouldn't have to much trouble landing on Mercer either and I believe would pull ahead in the later rounds as Mecer begins to fade. I'd expect it to be an all out war much like Mercer vs Cooper.

Mercer takes a few hard shots but guards the predictable Tua hook well enough, throws a record number of jabs, and wins on points. The highlights appear on youtube set to aggressive music. SKS starts Mercer destroys Tyson threads.
