how many alts does this **** have? aside from ruiz name me one durable decent fighter that Tua kod? ill be waiting
Great post Elroy. :happy Discerning work on which shots were likely most effective based upon build. Though I think it is hard to judge who hit harder based upon who was down-what is the work rate, accuracy volume, combinations, WHO was hit...It would be false to say Ike took endless power shots from Tua, thus he did not hit that hard....I do not feel Ruiz (always holding & spoiling) & of course Moorer had top chins. I think likely prime Foreman hit a LITTLE harder than Tua. Both were ph/ysical outliars that a look at build cannot fully account for 1 in a million power.
You must be on Dugger's ranch also. "Evolution" has a bunch of contradictory quotes re: who has more power, & he only sparred with OLD Foreman. I do not recall him saying that Tua did damage with much fewer shots, though it is possible. He also spoke about Foreman's punches moving him & how numbing they were. And he said Klitchko hit him "by far the hardest". I do not think Klitchko hit harder than those guys. And I think old George & Tua hit about as hard, Foreman obviously better with looping punches & jabs, Tua a left hook specialist.
Interesting fight because their strengths match up well. I will say that Mercer is more proven, and in some fights his toughness mentally and physically is what kept him in the fight. I think that Mercer would give ground to Tua and try to be the matador to Tua's bull. I think the result of the fight rests on what Mercer does, and how well he can successfully box Tua. Being shorter, Tua will do what he always did, and that's plod after his opponent, looking for the big shots. He doesn't know any other way to fight. I'm leaning towards Mercer on account of his toughness and reasonable ring generalship. Toughness because he was not that hard to hit, and his chin ought to be strong enough to take single shots from Tua. Ring generalship because he had a nice jab and right hand, and knew when to clinch or move away. Mercer certainly wasn't slick, but he could give you some decent lateral movement when he needed to. As a boxer, he probably rates alongside someone like Rahman in terms of technique, maybe a little superior.
