Watch the Rahman- fights, and Hasim don“t have the jab Liston had. Easy UD for Sonny in a one-sided fight...

    Liston UD Tua

    (9-3)

This would be the same as Louis-Galento, only it would last longer and Liston wouldn't be as hurt as Louis was. Liston busts him up and stops him mid/late rounds.

Sonny Liston TKO 9 David Tua:good

Depends on where you stand on the Lewis fight.

If you agree that in the Lewis fight Tua decided to hide a little bit when he got hit then that is very obviously what will happen here.

The difference? Liston can force hsi opponents retreat with the jab alone.

    Liston by a wide UD.

This fight wouldnt even get close to 12 rounds, not because one of the fighters would get dominated, just two big hard hitters slugging it out, usually the fight is quick. Liston KO 5

After running into that pole of a jab a couple of times Tua does what he did against Lewis ,fight to last the route, but Sonny would be much more aggresive than Lennox and would meet Tua head on,liston by dec or late tko.

To those thinking Liston would outjab Tua like Lewis did:

I don't doubt Liston's jab, but you have to take into account two important factors:

    1) Lewis' jab is longer (he is 5 inches taller than Liston which makes up for a lot, especially against a 5'10 opponent) and faster

    2) More important:how do you know that Liston will elect to jab from a distance?
Tua inevitably comes forward; he's not going to try to outjab Liston.
Can anyone tell me in which fights Liston jabbed his opponent off the backfoot all night long, moving around the ring and avoiding the opponent? I don't think he can. Liston's plan is to jab his way in, moving forward, stalking mostly. Against Tua, i think it will be fought in close, or at least there will be big exchanges, like Liston vs Williams.

Chris I agree with you to a point.

The key factor here is how Tua reacts to Liston's power.

If it's to hot for him early the jab is probably the weapon Sonny will employ (of the front foot rather than the back).

If Tua feels like he can deal then we might see something like you suggest.

I think this one might look quite a bit like Tua vs Ibeabuchi.
