Corbett would be a Light Heavyweight today and i doubt that he would be a top guy.

Tua by KO in the first round.

Tua faints at the sight of Corbett in his thong boxing outfit. Corbett onloads a right
hand while Tua is disconcerted; KO1 Corbett.

I think that Corbett is a guy who tends to slip down your list, the more that you look into it, even among the hard headed classicists.

Even so, any sort of wins over top guys of the era, are enough to elevate him over Tua.

He might have lifted the title from a dilapidated alcoholic, but at least he beat the champion.

    Please.

The versions of Maskaev, Ruiz and Moorer that Tua KO'd were vastly, monumentally better than that old soak Sullivan.

The problem is that they weren't on paper.

Sullivan was still the champion, and these guys were not really contenders when Tua beat them.

Is it possible that they were nonetheless better than Sullivan head to head?

Hypothetically yes, but it would require a convoluted and complex chain of assumption.

The skill level here...... Lennox, Bowe, Tyson, AJ and Wilder must spend their days rejoicing that they didn't have to fight such skilled specimen. Only Carl Williams would have a chance at defeating those two.

No seriously....Carl Williams would humiliate those guys

I think that's only a problem for you.

It is a problem for you, because it introduces assumptions into your argument.

    Assumptions have to be justified.

Tua by destruction. I mean, the only chance Corbett has is if Tua likes what he sees posterior wise, and loses focus.

That's a dangerously high chance, though.

This. Tua was a great puncher, but one dimensional. A skilled fighter like Corbett most likely would neutralize Tua's power and outbox him.
