Tua lost to Chris Byrd, who later fought at light heavyweight.

So you are going to base your entire interpretation of Sullivan's style on one still photograph?

Come on, this is beyond ridiculous!

Guys, if Tua was around back then we'd be hearing legends about this guy that used to hunt and skin bears barehanded. And how he chopped a tree down with a single blow and how he caught a whale by the tail and hauled it out to dry land. He'd be an out-of-context problem for them.

I can't imagine what sort of racialicious nonsense they'd whip up around Tua to make him seem larger than life. This was an era when Queequeg and flesh-eating cannibals were still considered accurate representations of Polynesians.

One thing's for sure though; he'd be fighting with a topknot.

Are you trying to imply by this weaselly comment that Tua was beaten by a natural LHW?

Chris Byrd would likewise have torn through these guys like hollowpoint.

Indeed he would. Chris Byrd was a phenomenal fighter.

Don't worry, inconvenience is not what I feel, when I read your posts... amazement is the word I would use.

I don't know you, but I'm sure you're not really as stupid, as some of your absurd opinions would seem to indicate. On the contrary, you have a way with words, and strike me as being an intelligent man. Which makes it all the more strange, that you come on here trying to defend opinions, which are beyond ridiculous!

But maybe that's exactly what makes you tick: That you're so proud of your debating skills, that you feel you can argue everybody under the table - no matter how silly a stand you decide to take.

Why wouldn't he be wholly legitimate? The lineage starts from him.

Unless you're starting the lineage from Hart or something exotic like that.

I am saying that he was beaten by a guy who could have made light heavyweight if he had wanted to.

I don't see how you can dispute that!

He rounded up every single title claim under both Queensbury and London Prize Ring Rules.

If he was not a legitimate champion, then there is no such thing as a legitimate champion.

The IBRO has had him in their top 20.
I would need a very good reason to pick him over any lineal heavyweight champion.

I will just put it like that.
