Dempsey would get KO'd due to his nature and style of fighting, charging head first against a much larger, harder punching and granite chinned wall with a workrate spells doom in my book.
i actually think it would be a somewhat dangerous fight for Dempsey stylistically.... although I recall reading that at times Dempsey would box and move on guys...i wouldnt be supprised to see Dempsey pull a ricky hatton vs Juan Urango in this one (with dempsey being better than hatton..but Tua likely being pound for pound a hair better than Urango).
Tua is about 10 levels above Urango skill and ability wise. He probably has faster hands than Dempsey too
the punches actually dont look too horrible for such a big powerful guy..but his pivots look like a combination of feet in 2 feet and snow and **** in his trunks...
Are you being serious, a belt in a gift decision at 140lbs where the real champion had been stripped of the title anyway is more of an accomplishment than Ko'ing 4 HW champs including 2 lineal HW champs I suppose Urango and Maussa are also better than Burley, Langford and Wills How about you actually watch some of Tua's fights instead of him tooling about on the heavybag? His hands when he lets them go are very quick especially at mid range, he has a better left hook than Dempsey
his hands are decently quick for a guy his size..i still wouldnt call them "quick" in a absolute sense. His footwork was ****ing horrible..and the succes he had was due to so many guys in the modern sport having kind of shitty footwork as well (that goes for Byrd too..who is a pocket fighter).
His hands are quicker than Dempsey's. And yea they could only dream to have footwork like Willard and Firpo Oquendo has better footwork and skills than anyone Dempsey's been filmed beating http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNubIR7ROIo The only guy I remember Dempsey fighting with decent footwork was Tunney and we saw what happened there
How about you watch some boxing for once and point out a Dempsey opponent on film with better footwork and movement than Oquendo, you'll struggle
i havent watched Fres in a fews..so i gave your video a look....he steps in the ring...in a more or less "correct" but super basic way...kind of reminds me of what a boxer should look like in the 4 th week of training. ...step left....slide right foot to the left......step left....slide right foot to the left......step left....slide right foot to the left...when he changes directions he has about a half second delay as he resets.... dude this aint trolling...I am being honest..if you think Fres is showing anything beyond basic footwork than you are smoking something.
The question was which Dempsey opponent he actually beat shows better footwork and movement on film, are you avoiding the Q? None of Dempsey's opponents bar Tunney circle properly or use distance as well as Oquendo BTW Oquendo beat Byrd, Holyfield and Toney on any fair scorecards
