you stick a jab into Tuas face and he is almost done but you cant gas or go to sleep on him....as Oleg, Izon ,Rahman and Oquendo found out. Tua has legitimate one punch KO power against legitimate modern 220 plus heavies, he is stromg as a ox with a nearly granite chin. I am no Tua fan by any means but Louis has to box and keep Tua at bay with the jab ......if he decides to trade his chances go up rapidly getting starched, Tuas hook is no joke when landed. Tua was also never seriously hurt or on the verge of going down, survival mode or not, the closest who hurt him were Byrd to the body and Lewis with a right but in all fairness that was a Tua not firing on all cylinders anymore. The Goosens got him into great shape against Byrd but something happened upstairs after the Ike fight and he deteriorated mentally, sat on his rankings , got fat and put up a pathetic show against Lewis. Louis should win this but a prime Tua is certainly capable to cause a upset if Joe keeps standing right in front of him.
Nobody asked about tall powerful boxers. The question is how many " elite " behemoths did he fight, and how many guys as elusive as Chris Byrd?
That is not enough. You also have to prove Louis's vulnerability to that type of puncher. You need a precedent for Louis being taken out in the manner that you are predicting, otherwise you are building your prediction on a number of unsubstantiated assumptions.
There is your answer then. People assuming Louis would beat the behemoths of the modern era, is based on nothing but speculation. This is simply due to the fact that with no disrespect to the guys like Baer, Simon and Carnera they were nowhere near as good as the bigger guys from the modern era.
As are you, assuming Louis could take a shot from someone with Tua's power when there is no precedent for it other than him being stopped by Schmelling and Marciano, who arguably did NOT possess the one shot power of Tua. I am not picking Tua to win or lose tbh because I don't really care, but this hero worship of Joe Louis is quite ridiculous. Any fool knows if Tua lands his money shot left hook cleanly, 99.9% of Heavyweights from any era are going down. And I'd go as far as to say it is gonna take a granite chin coupled with amazing recuperative powers to be able to get back up.
Say only one one-punch Tua ko against a decent fighter ! I don't know only one example. Otherwise the featherfisted Barrett knocked down Tua . Savon destroyed Tua in amateur easily. His chin is overrated.
Chris Byrd defensive skill wasn't good at all.He was very easy to hit.Yeshe had a coward style but this is nothing to do with the skill. I think Byrd has always problem with the decent or decent bum minimum 6' fighters (Ibeabuchi,Povetkin, klitschko sisters 3X,McCline,Golota,Arthur Williams ) Maybe Tua was his only one impressive win. This says all about Tua's quality.
name those people that took Tuas money shot, we are not talking grazing shots, we are talking flush......tua would be easily one of the hardest punchers Louis would step into the ring to......a limited one trick pony but a lights out puncher......why do you think Lewis danced for twelve and did not ambush him a la Grant, Golata or even VK ? Just check out the short shot he iced Wilson with ....thats the same guy who took Briggs 'O", not a world beater but he was short circuited by Tua quick. BTW, Tua takes out the stiff no defense Mr Telegraph Baer as quickly as Louis did, tailer made, Baers jab aint never gonna make a difference because you never gonna beat a legitimate puncher with block, ing shots with your face exclusively.
