Prime for prime who wins? Would Norton outbox Tua or would Tua KO Norton like all good punchers he faced did?
Tua. Norton’s chin isn’t built to take on big punchers. I’d pick Norton against a lot of boxers but punchers no. Norton was best when he could apply pressure. He can’t apply pressure well against big punchers
Terrible match up for Norton Tua is an elite puncher and would starch Norton early. Whilst I don't think Norton has glass chin I mean he did go 54 rounds vs Ali and Holmes so he has some proven durability. But there comes a point where a certain level of puncher would be too much for Norton, and well Tua is one of the hardest hitting Heavyweights of all time enough said.
I think that with Futch, Norton has a gameplan to make it past Tua and outbox him despite his shortcomings chin wise. Tua was a bomber, but he was no Joe Frazier- Who wins over Norton every single time.
Tua. Norton’s track record isn’t good against big punchers that made him back up. Tua would do that and probably hurt him badly at some point and finish him.
Tua,as Gazelle Punch has said ,Norton was not effective on the back foot, his trailing foot in the bucket stance was all wrong for boxing on the retreat. Tua could take a Norton shot flush ,the reverse is not true. Tua catches him at some point.
Byrd did have a decent chin he took a beating from Wladimir for 12 rounds who's a huge puncher and way bigger than Byrd. Ibeabuchi was a 230 pound wrecking machine and he get caught Byrd with the perfect punch that would've floored anyone Byrd still got up and was stopped on his feet. Byrd was completely different to Norton he could box on the backfoot unlike Norton, he was also incredibly slick with very good upper body movement.
it would be an entertaining fight for a few rounds. norton boxing and moving. but some time in the 5th or 6th, tua connects.
