Thing is with these PPV's (this is a bad one, but there are plenty of others - eg Holyfields latest, RJJ's latest etc) that obviously people do buy them, otherwise they'd stop being created.

People need to stop buying crap.

It's on PPV because no TV network wanted to pay for the fight.

It's that simple. At least we have the option to watch the fight if we want too.

I think none of the regulars wanted to pick up the card so it becomes a PPV based on "name" fighters fighting against no-names rather than each other.

****, they should feed that hype-job Roman Greenberg to Tua or Mesi....................at least we'd get to see a great KO.

That's messed up isn't it? Seems the trend theses days. The "star attractions" don't have to justify their opponents, they just make it PPV.

Not a bad price though, it's supposedly only $24.95. It should be $9.99, it'd be worth that much I guess, maybe not if you include tax and all...............:huh :-(

The way I see it is, normally this fight wouldn't even be on TV. So you wouldn't get to see it anyway. The way Tua has been lately, FNF/WNF and BAD probably don't want him headlining anything, and he sure as hell isn't getting on HBO-WCB at the moment.

I'm a fan-for-life of his and if I wasn't going to the fight I'd probably pay around $30 for a PPV. Seems like they are putting it on PPV for those that want to see it because the networks won't be covering it.

Quit yer whinin'. Where else can you see Joe Mesi, David Tua, Roman Greenberg and Jeremy Williams on one show for $24.95?
ESPN doesn't pay for boxing anymore so who is going to have to pay? The fans. No one is being forced to buy it so if you don't want to then don't. Then just shut the eff up and let me and my 12 or so friends who will come over for a bar-b-q enjoy it.

That's absolutely right; the one of these comebacks we'll really get behind is whichever of them fights like a prospect, regular fights offered cheap to the networks to get them exposure, rebuilding up the name and the credibility, and slowly lifting up the quality of the opposition. This is all meant to be inspired by George Foreman, but in his comeback he fought 24 fights in three years before he got his shot at Holyfield.

Compare and contrast that with Holyfield, who despite this supposed legendary conditioning fought twice in 2006 (I take this as the start of the latest comeback, as he didn't fight in 2005) and has fought twice so far this year, with hopefully one more to come. The opponents haven't been bum of the month, but even so, that's a pitiful work-rate in comparison.

Fans have been saying this for over two years, at least. Tua and his team don't appear to be listening. They seem to think fighting a bum once or twice a year is good enough!!!:patsch

Agreed. I'm a fan of Tua's and I think this is just rediculous. It is not nearly good enough, especially since he isn't getting injured in any of his recent fights (broken hand, ribs, etc.). He needs to stay much more active and that may help his conditioning (I can only hope).

He should really listen to Hal Johnson and Joanne Mcleod..
