David Tua vs Rocky Marciano

There are guys who are bigger, stronger, and hit harder than Marciano in every era.

None of these things guarantees success against him, or even guarantees success at the elite level.

This is reflected in the fact that Tua was singularly unsuccessful at the elite level.

 

Really? When did marciano face a guy with the pack of tua?
A human tank, a guy who did hit propably as hard as forman
Iron chin.
A guy who destroyed another cruiser puncher like moorer (who was naturally bigger than marciano).
NEVER. tua took shots from guys who were far bigger,stronger,heavier and did hit harder than marciano.
Plus tua had stamina. He could trade for a full fight and carried his Power all the fight.
You think that does not matter the size with marciano. After all he never los.( tua would have been undefeated too in the era of rocky and more dominant, however marciano would have lost to lewis, ike,byrd, and probably rahman and more people. Marciano is a lhw today. Deal with it.
You need another type of ****nal and size to beat tua.tua would literally walk over rocky, marciano was slow easy to hit( when reznik said that rock y was too elusive i nearly died of laugh). Rocky cant run and tua overpowers him easily and took a better shot, tell me how rocky wins it(not fantasies please)

 

As great as Marciano was in his time, I don't see Tua struggling much against a straight-forward 189-lb pressure fighter...at all.

 

If you can't see Rocky losing to an extremely strong, powerful, high-stamina combination puncher with an iron chin and a 40-lb weight advantage, you're not looking hard enough.

1) Tua 1996 vs Rocky 1953 -> Tua (just because of the 50 lb weight advantage)

2) Tua born in 1926, Rocky in 1923 -> Rocky

3) Tua born in 1972, Rocky born in 1970 -> Rocky

If Tua would have been born in the 1920´s he would agruably not weighing 240 lb, more like 210-220.
If Rocky would have been born in 1970 he would arguably not weighing 189 lb, more like 220-230.

People became heaver and bigger during the years, but it doesn´t mean better fighters.

Louis was a big guy, much bigger as many fans today give him credit for.
So was Rocky.

1- it was not just weight advantage but natural size advantage, tua was bigger than marciano. ans not, the class does not overcome size advantage. at least not 40 pounds of natural size, can you see sugar ray robinson beating eddie machen?
i can´t. and the diference of class was huge. and please.. stop your boring **** of " tua never did beat elite opponent etc" they did not fight in the same era.. these "elite rivals" would be lhws in the era of tua.
2- tua never fought anyone smaller than marciano , byrd was taller and heavier. plus much faster with a better style to beat tua, he was not a slow, small brawler.
3- until now you could not say any real reason why marciano would win except bull**** type " ranked contenders etc".
4_ the hw michael moorer that fought tua would have cleaned walcott, charles ,moore and shot louis.

I remember hearing and old interview with Louis and they asked him about getting the chance at Marciano when he was in his prime. The reporter was clearly inferring and waiting for Louis to say he'd of beaten him, but that wasn't Joe's style he was a very humble man. The thing that always stuck out was exactly what he said.. "Marciano was just to strong" I think Rocky is clearly being undersold here based on his size and weight (frame)

Was Tua an OX yes, strong as hell yes, but to me that doesn't guarantee he'd run through Rocky at all. I agree they would be made to order for one another, but why do some assume Rocky would just be blown away, considering he never was EVER??

How do you think Rocky could crowd his opponents? Not by being easy to hit lol. He had dynamic rhythm, it was awkward to hit him.

Tua can barely walk in round 10. Rocky is full of energy after 15 rounds.
