Moorer was still barrel chested, big traps and arms.

Marciano beat everyone that was around, you can't say he wasn't tested.

He still lost to inferior fighters who no one heard of.

Bowe stopped Holy, Yet Lennox Lewis could not? Mike Tyson could not? Who else is there..

You think that..The evidence in front of you suggest you are wrong. Why could Evander Holyfield take a better shot then a 245lb Wladimir Klitschko or Hassim Rahman..exactly..you are wrong

How is Joe going to keep the rock off him? If I remember correctly thats the reason why Louis said he could never beat Marciano. Schemling would be killed and Rock would walk through Maxie

Grew into his frame? Are you becoming a new Tommo. All he did was grow his chest, muscles and arm and physically became strong..Neck and shoulders stayed the same..Did Roy Jones jr grow into his body also?

Foster, who was beaten everytime he stepped up, you use for a comparison? How about you use someone in Marciano who had similar traits and was in the same league like Evander Holyfield. Holyfield took a punch in the amateurs, cruiserweight surprise...HW. No if Holyfield fought at his CW division he would have still taken the same shots and kept coming forward. Ali said Frazier was not better then Marciano.

Chris Byrd became a HW champion and took shots he was a small HW.

You know someone has run out of ideas when they start to imply an ATG champion is nothing more than an "undsrsized face first mauler"'

Even if you dont think Marciano could survive today one has to aknowledge him as an all time great champion.

whoever heard of an ATG champion was face first?

In some ways I am being a bit unfair to Tua here. Up to the Ibeabuchi fight he was arguably the most exciting young heavyweight prospect since Mike Tyson. He was very focused, and he was taking on and beating all the most dangerous up and coming prospects.

After this something goes wrong, and he suddenly looses focus, then fails to fulfil his potential. The end result is that we are all left wondering what might have been. I sometimes think that the Tua that turns up to these fantasy fights, is not the real one but the fighter that everybody hoped he would become.

    I agree with this!

Was Marciano lucky to be around in a weak heavyweight era? Yes, absolutely! Was it his fault, there were no super-heavyweights to test him? No, of course not! He ducked no one and beat every fighter they put in front of him - after which he retired undefeated. You can't really ask for more than that.

Of course he wouldn't be competitive against the bigger champions that followed (Liston, Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis)... but so what? He was great in his time, and that's really all that matters.

You have no argument whatsoever so now you've resorted to crying about me not acknowledging the runt as an ATG. You're grasping for straws, nuthugger.

An ATG that is not even competative? What part of "All TIME" dont you understand! Surely the definition of an all time great champion is a champion who established himself as a one off exception to the rule who could not only "compete in" but actualy "champion" another era? hence ALL TIME.

Interesting contender that he was, what did Tua establish for "all time"?
