Tommo..TRUST ME...you have no idea what you are talking about. Boxing is a sport of ability, determination, speed, ability to take punishment and not quit, toughness, conditioning and killer instinct. In your little world you see a muscle bound hwt and he is a great fighter. Reality is..that alone is meaningless. Morrison did not have the heart to beat a real prime great hwt.
Prime Ali KOs the heartless Morrison within 6 rounds in a one sided fight.. A joke.....and I was not even an Ali fan and I can see this as plain as day. All time great fighter....do you understand what that means? vs a contender and a not so great contender at that. What junior high school do you attend or did you drop out?
Tommo...you get the prize as the most uninformed poster. Morrison was never the true heavyweight champion and he was a chinless contender without stamina. Don't ask me to explain that to you....noway you would ever understand. Suggest you study up the next 20 years and maybe you will wise up. Right now you are lost.
Chuvalo with 64 kos had a near 70% ko ratio. I guess we will call that weak in this bizarro world. Props though for the "chin on legs" as I got a chuckle from that quip.
Marciano wasn't a professional boxer at 20. Most fighters gain some weight after that age. Ali did, Liston did, Moore, Charles, etc. Even if Marciano didn't, that's not the norm.
It is absurd that you are trying to twist it to this position, because the most tangible advantage the old timers have, is a lot more ring hours and ring experience. There is nothing magic about a fighter weighing 200lbs, and weighing 200lbs does not make them an order of magnitude better than somebody who weighs 199lbs.

There used to be a far far larger emphasis on mobility with the heavies. That's been absent for a long long time. Who was the last guy w/ a good set of wheels as a pro--Larry Donald? He very well have been the last guy that was even remotely dedicated to jumping rope. And that's 1 thing the big heavies certainly don't bother with. They don't have to. their contemporaries are flat footed as well. But years ago the guys had to weigh less so they had the balance to punch while moving their feet. These heavies in the sport now move like a steamshovel. Who was the last guy you can name fighting off their toes for lets say 6 rounds? Who were the last 5 guys adept at throwing punches with both hands while moving their feet and not losing their balance? Those skills are long since in the rearview mirror and what big heavy fights off their toes? How hard do you think it would have been for a guy like Ali to turn a guy like Lennox and his stay planted size 17's? Aside from the Klitschko's, what big guy turns opponents anyway?
