Who has more chance of pulling it off, and how? did Langford box well going backwards? how would he do if he tried trading with the murderous punching tua. could he ko tua? interesting questions. those who think tua is easy to hit then think again. he used the same shoulder rolling technique james toney uses, and is pretty effective with it too. i cant pick a winner
Langford wasn't the best of boxers but he has often under-rated boxing ability, he could be outboxed but that's not something Tua would be able to do. He was very, very powerful considering he started his career at lightweight and stood around 5'8", yet was clean KO'ing the best heavies of his generation, including Harry Wills, arguably a top 20 heavy of all-time. He had a great straight right hand, a very good jab but because of his small frame he didn't have the greatest of reaches, a fantastic chin and as I've said under-rated boxing skills, he was a pretty clever fighter and had a solid enough defence. He had heart too, so whilst I would consider a Tua KO to be an option, as he has a huge left hook, I think Langford would be able to whether a lot of blows, I think he would get put down once or twice but would get up again, and despite Tua's great chin I would consider a Langford TKO because he's probably one of the hardest hitters of all-time and was probably too quick for Tua and he's certainly hittable so I think Langford would land too much and force a stoppage or retirement.
I think Langford would win by decision after a war as he did against Sam McVea. If it went to a series Tua would likl;ey win at some point.
Even though Langford hit very hard pound for pound, I find it very unlikely he'd stop Tua who has an iron chin. I do think he'd beat him though.
