This would be one entertaining match. Tua inspite of his pathetic boxing skills has a real chance here. Just needs that one money shot against chinny Morrison. Can a legendary puncher like Morrison be the first guy to crack Tua's chin? Based on his war with Ray Mercer, doubt it. Have to lean with Tua here
Have to lean with Tua ko within 30 seconds and Morrison asking when the fight is gonna start during post-fight interviews here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In most cases I pick Tua. I do think that Morrison might have more success employing what he did against Foreman, as a slugfest may end badly for him. He had OK skills. Sent from my Lenovo B8000-F using Tapatalk
But you have to factor in that Tua has never ever been knocked out before. I also think Tua had more footspeed than the 90's version of Foreman, he just needs to catch Morrison once and that is the end of the fight. Morrison needs to fight that perfect fight without making a single mistake.
You will get no quarrel from me. I just meant that Tommy had to stay away despite any punching prowess he possessed. Sent from my Lenovo B8000-F using Tapatalk
Tua by Grand Slam Home Run. Tommy has done nothing but get better since the time he actually fought. He was rated in the Ring Top Ten Annual only twice and no higher than #7.
George forced Tommy to improvise as Foreman did to Ali in Kinshasa. Morrison responded to George's illegal shoves brilliantly, by running counterclockwise when pushed away, before Foreman could pull the trigger. Tua's not going to attempt setting Tommy up like that, he's just going to unload. George took Morrison's best shots. Power doesn't decide this outcome, punch resistance does. How quickly? Tua-Moorer and Tua-Ruiz all over again.
As I may have mentioned previously, I was mostly thinking that Morrison would not last long going toe to toe. He would have to find an alternative. To be fair Tua's rise was when I wasn't able to follow boxing as much as I did in the early 90s, but I have seen enough to know trading books with him would leave Morrison in a world of hurt. Tommy was able to pull off that strategy once and only once in his career because once and only once he fought a living, breathing mummy in concrete shoes. Tommy was literally running with his back turned at times. Tua, who could actually close distance when a telephone pole jab wasn't in the way, would eat him alive if he tried such a thing.
