Nope. At the time, it was about 50-60 cents on the dollar. So maybe $NZ6 million. But yes, he did not make good decisions. He shouldn't have left Lou Duva. Shouldn't have let Barry let Martin Peeww come on the team. Should have stayed in shape. Should have fought more often. Etc, etc, etc. But don't we all make bad decisions based on available info from time to time? The problem with Tua's is that they were on a grand scale.

This story is like the same old broken record in boxing. I bet we here about it with guys like Mayweather as well. I know boxers arent financial guys, but they seem to lack even regular common sense when it comes to financial matters. The gullible are easy targets.

 

Yeah, but how many of you were making millions of dollar decisions in your 20's with people you thought you trusted? It is the same old story, but when a guy has been with you for 10 years, eating at all the crap fast food and gin joints...

Tua was a dish washer when he decided to go pro. Much wiser now, but that's a few fair years down the track.

Most are only high school educations and turned to boxing because there wasnt any other prospective career in their life. They are not educated men and havent a ****ing clue as to what to do with any large sum of money

This story been told a hundred times and will keep happening to the end of time unfortunately

 

It also happens in other sports and to celebs. When you make mult-millions, you have to do something with it. Either put it in the bank and trust no one, or invest it and take your chances. Not to mention the deals and shady contracts that are struck.

 

Damn.. Poor Tua!! I hope he gets some pay days soon. He could of been set if he would of had a better manager and promoter!

Tua can still makes lots of money if he just starts fighting! He can fight almost anyone to get his name back and land a big money title fight. Who did Austin fight to get mandatory? Who did Solis ever fight? Chambers got knocked out and landed another elimination! Rossy?! Etc.

 

I mean I hope he gets on his feet but at the same time, Tua is stupid.

 

Just a few fights can makes him lots of money, and if he gets a title shot.............He still has a big name!

 

The prospects of Tua landing a big fight are really slim. He hasn't been relevent for a very long time and his name is not all that recognizable either. He always has the one punch chance so many top contenders will stay away from him. I figure he can still make a buck or two at home.

 

Finishes up MTV with Demetrius King. Then makes half a mil in June fighting someone like Barrett or Holy. Fights a top ten fighter, or a money fight against a Peter, Arreola, etc. and gets in line to face Wlad next year. Not a bad year if he keeps winning. Believe me, if Wlad gives Chisora a shot, Tua should have a shot.
