None of the fighters Moore faced hit harder than Razor, Archie couldn't avoid a clumsy short armed 5'10 heavyweight.

I’d say men like Satterfield, Sheppard, Marciano, Valdez were decent bangers. All probably have better opposition wins then Razor. Moore faced bigger and better.

Depends what stage of his career. Nino and Baker were of similar size and were both comparable. Men like Abel Cestac were bigger even maybe not as good. Men like Satterfield and Avorante were of similar height if not weight. Let’s not pretend his size is even a factor here. Moore is FAR more proven against far better opposition. Imo you are who you beat and Razors resume is a little thin. Not non existent but let’s face it not impressive.

Nah, look at the general size of people compared to back then now, 6 5” is way more common than back then

Archie avoided Rocky for majority of the fight, Marciano's workrate was simply too much for him. Ruddock didn't have Rocky workrate and he was much more predictable.

Seriously, some people really believe that all you need is power to beat someone like Moore...

Think he more than compensated with about 55-60 pounds, superior speed, athleticism, power, and even boxing ability.

Ruddock was 230 lbs at his peak, Rocky was around 187 lbs, so you exaggarated a bit the weight gap.

I don't agree that Ruddock was better boxer than Rocky, it's not even close to me. Rocky was far more effective at finding his opponent and he usually faced more elusive defensive fighters than Ruddock (outside of Tyson).

I don't want to make this thread into another Rocky thread. Compare him to Valdes who was much more similar in terms of style, size and athleticism. Moore toyed with Valdes.

I think Moore was "physically weaker" and less durable at 175. Probably everything to do with his extreme weight cutting techniques. It's likely he wouldn't have even bothered to keep the LHW title had it not been such leverage back then, it was obvious he was more comfortable in the 180 range as most his fights were there.

If Moore comes in at whatever he wants, like the 190s he did against Valdes, I'd favor him over Ruddock. Moore is a master boxer with pop, he can overcome a predictable giant.

It's against Lewis, Wlad, Fury...that I see Moore getting out boxed and knocked out.

Think there is some misconception. Boxrec doesn’t have a lot of his weigh ins but three years into his career he weighed as little as 203 pounds. Several years later when he hit his “prime” or found roids whatever he weighed 225-230 range. The 230 plus version wasn’t prime.

Yeah, that's probably true. Ruddock weighed 228 for the first Tyson fight. Next Tyson fight, he's 10 pounds heavier.
No doubt, in an effort to gain mass to out muscle Tyson.
I think he did better at 228 honestly.

Just as an aside, when I heard Tyson's weight against Lewis was 230+, I knew then the fight was lost.
Tyson never used bulk to out muscle his opponents. His style was built on speed. 215-220 was perfect for him. At 230 whatever, he was slower, easier to hit and could not sustain a high-energy style. Added weight was all wrong for him.

Added weight works for some fighters, but not for all fighters.

I do not know if he exaggerated. He was sometimes over 230. Given Razor's record at the time, & how good his performance was against Tyson, it is easy to argue he was at his best in their second fight, when Ruddock was a buff 238 lbs.
What is unusual is Tyson is listed at 5' 10" here. Usually he is liste falsely at 5' 11.5", likely he was an inche shorter...

We have no idea if he found PEDs. He may well have, but nobody can ever dispute it when I post reliable info on what folks can achieve naturally-if there is no convincing evidence of usage, it is only fair & rational to not assume it.
I have lifted for years, & seen endless anecdotal evidence what folks at certain heights & bone structures may achieve.

Regarding Tyson & being heavier-remember that given his height, at his prime weight he already had as much muscle per square inch as the average guy he fought, or more.
So his 215-220 is the equivalent of the 240's for someone 6'3"-6'4"!
Usually add 4-5 lbs. per inch, but that is for folks who are not heavier than average, for dudes who are pretty heavily muscled, make it 6 lbs.

Or maybe he just grew into his frame and found a strength, conditioning, and diet regimen conducive to putting on muscle?
