Honestly I'm fascinated by that opinion, Archie couldn't get out of the way of a clumsy short armed heavyweight like Marciano at 175 .Archie is a match for anyone but at heavyweight Moore was not a mover and anything Razor throws will hit Moore somewhere. There's nothing Archie can throw to hurt Ruddock, he took Morrisons left hook and Tyson's bombs. All Moore can do is back up and try and survive and he won't. Razor is top 10 all time in power punches, the physical difference is simply too great

Marciano was very skilled in closing off a ring, throwing in bunches, and countering. Completely different styles the comparison doesn’t work. Moore is the Ko king lol. What makes you think there is nothing he can throw that wouldnt hurt him? Don’t agree at all with that assessment. I don’t think most reasonable boxing people have razor in a top ten for power either. But to each their own in that regard. FYI Moore is like 64-4 at heavy weights. He’s no stranger there.

They do. Wilder's legs are listed at 14" calves, & an almost insanely low 18" for thighs.
That is astonishing, because even when I look at tale of the tapes from when HWs were the size of modern day LHWs (or somewhat smaller, due to re-hydration after day before weigh-ins...

    None are listed that small.
I could not even find anything in the teens!
Perhaps Fitzsimmons could have been in the teens, only because he weighed only around 165, & his upper legs were proportionately small.

For a modern day Hw at 6' 7" to be 18"....Incredible.

That's smaller than Old Foreman's biceps, which were reportedly 19".

He had normal legs, I don't get it. Boxers rarely have powerful legs, they just train that way.

Ha! And even smaller than some weighlifters who work to maximize size, + many take PEDs.

You are forgetting one very important point.
In the eyes of his most devoted disciples, any opponent of Marciano automatically gains 33% superpowers by default when matched with modern guys like Ruddock simply because they fought Rocky.

Yeah, it's easy way to generalize everyone who has different opinion than you into "Rocky stan". I'm not Rocky fan, I don't believe he'd be a HW today but what does this have to do with this thread? We're talking about Archie Moore here, fighter who accomplished way more than just fighting Marciano..
