Mendoza can't make up for a fact that WBA's marketing and popularity hasn't been on the level it should have been since he was in charge (and even Mendoza Sr). Originally WBA was the first organization with the biggest list of famous champions holding their belt. Since then Mendoza has been associating himself and doing favors to whoever comes up with good money, completely disregarding WBA's own rules.

Unfortunately, Mendoza has damaged a lot of careers in the process. Machado should have been the WBA's Super champion, having beaten the Super champ (Corrales), who in turn beaten Uchiyama (the original Super champ). But because Mendoza prefers money as opposed to WBA's official rules, he made Machado a mere "Regular" champ for his victory over Corrales and made up a new Super belt, which he put on the line for Davis vs Cuellar, clearly because TMT has contacted him for another favor.

A guy who was just stripped by the IBF for missing weight at 130 and a guy who just lost at 126 were sanctioned to fight for WBA's Super title at 130. That's what a pure corruption looks like.

    WBA badly wronged Machado.
