The mess unfolding with DAZN US - the stream of Davis-Garcia failed and when angry fans tried to order it again they were charged for each time they clicked order - will now impact sales of Canelo-Ryder.

How many of those 1.2 million clicks were fans who ordered and were charged for the fight multiple times may never be known.

But to try to appease fans that were charged for multiple purchases of the same PPV, DAZN is now handing out free PPV codes for Canelo-Ryder.

Which "assumes" these fans were going to order BOTH PPVs to begin with. (Because they're still be charged for two or more, since they aren't receiving a refund.)

So we'll see how LOW the Canelo PPV number turns out to be. Or how mad fans will be who just want refunds for being charged multiple times for the same PPV.

At least they're trying to make it right though. What a mess.

But they're NOT making it right. They're KEEPING the money and assuming these people were going to order Canelo-Ryder, too.

The people receiving the "free" codes have ALREADY PAID for multiple PPVs when they only wanted to order one.

It isn't a "free" code. They already paid the equivalent amount for that PPV.

Well they're going to have to refund, those codes are being given out for the mistake on their end. The buyer always wins.

People don't understand how the business works. For example my dad ordered Holyfield-Akinwande in 1998, it was pre ordered before the fight even got cancelled. So what do you think the cable company did?

    A. Said **** you, and give you a credit without refund.... Or....

    B. Gave you a refund plus a ppv credit for the amount refunded and call it a day? Mind you now this was 1998, things have changed drastically.

Ill tell you what happened because I was there, I was 14 years old and remember it like yesterday. Not only were we refunded in total, but we also got credited for the pre order they took from us when we paid. I got to watch Wrestlemania 15 for free!

DAZN will give refunds and those codes will be given to the consumer for their troubles or risk a class action lawsuit. Lol, what do you think will happen now?

    Use your head dude.

Big balls up by DAZN no doubt. People will eventually get refunded but it might take some time due to the sheer number of people demanding refunds. Whatever they do to make it up to their subscribers the damage has been done, they'll lose subscribers who will just illegally stream the fights on their platform if they can't provide a premium service for the price they have to pay.
