no worse than froch-dirrell and valeuv vs haye people said whitaker was boring...but if you constantly dominate and make it look easy, it wont be considered boring when its all said and done
You have an absolute right to be excited or bored by whatever moves you. And my comments may have been a little over the top, in response to the deluge of posts on how 'boring' Dawson was. However, the level of skill on display in his fight with Johnson was quite spectacular. ( I am not a Dawson fan, and scored the first fight for Glenncoffe.) I enjoyed the Ward Gatti trilogy where the overall level of skill from Ward and Gatti was NOWHERE NEAR Dawson's level, but there's more to the sport than raw slugging. Mayweather (another boxer I don't particularly care for) gets tagged with the same criticism. There is more action in MMA and UFC and at your local bar sometimes, but if 'action' is the only antidote to your boredom and you find sublime displays of boxing talent boring, then, again, I would guess boxing isn't really the sport for you. Apologies in advance if the truth offends.
There was **** all obvious about it, except to the blood and guts crowd. No. He put on a masterclass exhibition of fine boxing Time will tell. He's still young and has a long way to go in his career.
Don't hate on Dawson .. styles make fights. Johnson is a durable fighter. He makes anyone look less than stellar. You want to see a really boring fighter, watch all of B-hops fights. (Prior to pavlik, which he was brilliant in that one) Talk about boring ass **** ...
He is sometimes a boring fighter but the guy make a lot of mistakes that make the fights more interesting sometimes too.
To be honest, as a product that is to have some intrinsic entertainment value, I find Dawsons fights devoid of action. There is certainly a correlation between Dawson's fighting style and his drawing power. Simply put, Dawson should be a MUCH bigger draw than he is. He is a good looking, sublimely gifted pugilist. However, he is simply irrelevant to the casual fan. He is like a Ferrari built with an internal speed limiter.
