I'd like the Diaconu fight to happen. I think it will happen soon. Give it time. Stop shitting on good fighters, grow up. Dawson is a good fighter that just had a pretty impressive performance last night.

Let Diaconu do the same and build a name. It'll build pressure for the fight. Makes it more exciting. I look forward to it.

...and since when does a contract mean anything to Dawson or Gary Shaw?;)

RIDICULOUS. Have you seen the fight or what? ANd taking Tarver instead of Diaconu is purely economical. What will you say now if Dawson unify by beating (easy) Diaconu? I'm betting what ever you want that Diaconu would be the one not wanting to risk is belt. Please, if you think Diaconu has something else than a puncher's chance (as any fighter has), well...peace.

...improve his resume, by fighting whom?

Who was Dawson before he got to fight Adamek? Why didn't Adamek say: improve your resume and then you get a title shot? Why didn't Johnson say that to him too? Why didn't Tarver? We all know why.

You might not be aware but Dawson was supposed to fight Diaconu in an eliminator for the chance to fight Adamek, but Dawson got the WBC to dispense with all of that and he got a title shot straight away.

The only way Diaconu's resume would be respected is if it contained some big American names, but the big American names won't fight him until his resume is respected. If a mandatory cannot get a fight, then who can, against Dawson? Think about it for a second.

Diaconu was not even mentioned once by any interviewer to Dawson. Dawson never ever metioned him once. The Showtime commentator last night simply brushed him off by saying he is a lesser fighter than Tarver. And yet...that wasn't true. Diaconu would have had a considerably better chance of beating Dawson than the Tarver that showed up last night - the Tarver we all knew would show up.

Even if we assume, generously, that Diaconu will beat both Branco and Johnson, by that time, Dawson will have beaten RJJ/ Hopkins or Tarver again, and he'd consider himself p4p No. 1 already. If Mayweather never fought Cotto, Margarito or Williams after he became P4p No.1, why should Dawson fight Diaconu, even if his resume became a bit more respectable? Think about it.

No. It's just what it is and since I am a big fan of boxing, I have the right to express an opinion about the state of the business, and the way it's conducted, because it affects me directly, as a fan. Sure, some people will just take whatever match-ups are out there, without asking for their favourite match-ups or criticising less meaningful match-ups, but hardly a person on ESB does that, so why should I be expected to? You yourself have started a thread about which match-ups needed to be made, correct? I don't recall me calling you a hater for suggesting that certain fights were more worthwhile than others. So, again, if you disagree with me about the Dawson v. Diaconu match-up, that's fine, you have a right to. But just because you disagree with me, doesn't make me a hater.

If I rememeber correctly, you thought Tarver would stop Dawson. He didn't. You overrated Tarver and underrated Dawson, and you're underrating Diaconu. Hater much?

He looke like a million dollars, BUT...after he got hurt in the third round, he looked out of it completely. He wasn't moving, he wasn't throwing, he was a zombie for 30 seconds or so. Old man Tarver just didn't have the punch so many people have praised him for (??) to take Dawson out. Both Johnson and Tarver, had they been fresher, would have taken Dawson out.

well tarver did tell dwason to improve his resume but thats all i will argue.to me tarver is the same tarver i never cared for him and he lived off that roy fight.his record is al lil weak for a king at 39. 27-5.even being a champ.no matter how big of a fan of dawson i am i wont bash diacono just says he doin the right thing(not to build his resume for dawson) but instead fighting agasint branco and johnson for the wbc and than if either one need to prove p4p they must fight each other in unification. whcih we all we be more happier with that if the time comes. for that fight will be huge then. two undefeated champs what more can we ask.

If Dawson had kept focused on landing those lefts to the body like he did the first two rounds, he would have stopped Tarver down the stretch. Trouble is, Chad is like a kid with ADD; can't stay focused.

Dawson will be accepted in the eyes of the American boxing establishment as p4p No. 1 irrespective of whether he ever fights Diaconu, Calzaghe, Kessler, Bute, etc, just like they did with Mayweather. It's enough for Dawson to impress against RJJ and/or Hopkins, and he's p4p No.1. It's that easy!

A rematch would be pointless, I for one wouldn't sit up to watch it. Dawson won comfortably and Tarver certainly won't develop any more durability at this stage of his career, i think he finally became an old man last night. He was knackered from the 6th onward

I was very impressed with his focus last night, given the way he usually loses the plot. If he keeps focussing like that, and he's protected from punchers, top prime, live, fighters who can hurt him, he's got it made.

You say that, but how meaningful was this figh in the first place? If you listen to the articles that have been written in the USA on the subject, or if you listen to the Showtime commentators, this was the biggest and most important LHW fight in years and it decided who the best LHW in the world was...even though Tarver was shot, as we could all see last night. It doesn't matter whether you would watch it, it could be marketed heavily and casual fans would watch it. Doubt it happens though, Dawson was much too dominant, but if they cannot get RJJ or Hopkins next (assuming both lose), they'll go back to Tarver, whom else will they fight? Kessler? Diaconu? Hell, no! Much too risky...and those guys are euro-bums no one's ever heard of, remember...even the US posters on this site, who are supposed to be hard-core fans think they're ****/overrated.

well im not sure how u took what i said or if your just bashing. but what i mean is for a rematch with johnson. johnson was not the champ dawson was. why a reamtch if he won. with tarver rematch we all should now tarver by now he gets a rematch not sure by clause or the mouth. he got one with jones, johnson, and tried with bhop but with the bhop rematch he stop chasing it when he got his ibo title back. at least i havent heard or read anything more on that. so with losing to dawson im sure he has a clause if not he will go on to say it was an off night for him like usual. lets just hope we dont hear "drugged" again.im aware of the diacono contract thats why i dont speak much on it. nor do i go on bashing him. i understand where the fans come from. as if it was diacono ducking chad i would be going on bout that just like chad fan does. its what we fans do. thats why quiet on that. just hoping for a big fight from the two no matter if goes down on not. if both what to proven in the p4p ranking i do think they need to fight. especially if diacono goes through branco and johnson.
