Ward is way too rugged and skilled for Dawson, who is a bit of a flake.

Thats the way im looking at it ..The only concern is the weight for Dawson but if he is able to come in strong ,than this fight is a pickem ..

There is a lack of fights Ward can make without getting abuse, this is one of them, if the fight is even a clear win for Ward there is already room for his 175 debut against Dawson.

But I do think this will be a good fight, still think Ward UD

It all depends on what Chad shows up IMO. If he doubles and triples the jab followed by the big left to keep Ward outside and throws his beautiful combos whenever ward slips in then he can win this. My guess is Dawson will employ this tactic early and win the majority of the first 6-7 rounds but Ward will eventually rough him up and frustrate him which will cause complacent Chad to have an all too common lapse in focus that Ward will jump all over and use to get inside and go to work and once he's there, being the smart mofo that he is he'll have more and more success getting there and Chad ain't great on the inside so it'll be Wards game form there on. I see a 7-5 UD for Ward coming on strong late. Cheering for Dawson though and he has legit good chance at winning.

Chad is not a hopeless fighter, he comes to win. This definitely isn't an easy fight for both.

I see Ward controlling the inside dominantly, but I just can't see Dawson allowing him to get in position.

I am picking a Dawson victory, likely either a SD win or SD loss via favorable hometown judging/politics.

As mentioned, Dawson needs to double and tripple that jab, and move. Not dance around the ring, but shuffle his feet to the side and use his jab to maintain distance. He can't let Ward inside or he will lose. Hopkins would of beaten Dawson had he been 5 years younger. Hopkins lacked the offensive attributes which would of seen him to victory by the time he fought Dawson.

Ward would and will dominate on the inside which is why he will win an ugly decision. However Dawson is a live underdog. I'd bet my life that the deciding factor in this fight, is who can control the distance.

Are there actually people who think this WON'T be a great fight? I don't know why people would assume Ward has this just bc they are fighting at his weight. Dawson said himself that this wouldn't be an issue. This is a 50/50 fight and is one I am looking forward to the most next to Martinez/Chavez. I say Ward by MD and it'll be followed by a rematch at 175 at some point.

I do favor what your said.. my thought are how does Ward handle the jab from Dawson, especially if he is tripling it. Ward has not faced a fighter with this much skill..

this fight is to close to call at this moment, im still getting data from the Dawson Camp..

yup without a doubt the best and most skilled fighters either have fought in respects to being in their prime when they fought them. whoever wins this fight gets mega props and deserves to be no lower than #3 p4p.

I predict Ward forces Dawson to quit in a 1 sided fight in the 10th. Dawson will taste the canvas 2 or 3 times.
