You guys really think Pascal is such a shady fighter? I think Pascal might lose versus Dawson and he definetly wins another fight versus Hopkins. He might be a bit overrated right now but he's a real good fighter. I don't think Hopkins did enough to win the fight and Dawson just couldn't establish his game soon enough.

I think Dawson vs Pascal II might put up Dawson on top. But Pascal vs Hopkins II we'll see Pascal coming on top.

What about Hopkins vs Dawson??? At least Pascal doesn't evade any of the top fighters.

Did Pascal do enough to win? Or even draw?

Agreed. Pascal seems to genuinely want to fight the best out there. Although, he did receive some criticism for even fighting an old guy like Hopkins in the 1st place.

Yeah, I agree. That was why I predicted he'd lose to Pascal in the first place, because he wasn't prepared for that type of fight. That said, I think he can improve, even though he won't ever be mentally prepared to go to war. He has all the tools and, given the right gameplan, he shouldn't need to go to war.

Pascal sucks. (and by "sucks", I mean somewhere around #3 or #4 in the division around Tavoris Cloud)

Where oh where have all the Pascal fans gone?

All the guys who said Hopkins was leaving on a stretcher?
All the guys who had Pascal in their top 10 P4P and insulted those who didn't?
All the guys who hadn't yet realized Pascal took Calzaghe's crown of King Slapper?

As a casual biased fan I thought Pascal looked bad in a couple of rounds but overall a defeat would have been disappointing as Hopkins didn't do much aside from his acting and clowneries. 2 takedowns changes the issue of many boxing bouts either.

I am starting to think you have a mancrush on Pascal, my friend.

Pascal has been taking a beating on this site because most of the people thought he was given a charitable decision on his home turf. It wasn't as ugly as a robbery, but it the draw was certainly beneficial to him. The early KD's are what saved him. His stock has dropped, while Hopkins has been resurrected.........again.

PS- I do not like Bernard Hopkins. I like Pascal much more, but watching that fight, there is no way(in my eyes) he deserved to win. I can live with a draw, but only because he was home and sometimes it has an effect.

Hopkins pretty much pushed Pascal around after the 4th round. Pascal was throwing very little and was basically throwing 1 punch at a time from that point forward. For a guy with his handspeed to be outworked so much by Hopkins, a notorious low output guy, is well.......strange. He was clearly less effective than Hopkins for the most part. He got the KD's and that got him a few extra points allowing him to get the draw.

Wins another? Am I reading this wrong or does it look like you're saying that Pascal would get a 2nd win over Hopkins? He never won against Hopkins btw... Draw!

Pascal right now I think hype-wise, with this thread for example, is right where it needs to be. If next fight Dawson shows up and he beats him up, or if he beats up Hopkins in then rematch, then yeah you can say that he's all that... but until he does, he got outboxed by old Hopkins, and beat a Dawson which seemed to be half asleep for 90% of the fight, and just when he was waking up got unlucky and cut from an headbutt, just when it seemed he was getting started and was getting to Pascal...

So really, no one is saying he sucks as a fighter, he's a world champ level boxer for sure, but really, let's not get excited... Looks like most have him losing to Dawson or Hopkins... Which after barely getting a draw vs Hop seems likely... and where he'll lose to an awake Dawson seems also likely...
