Dawson and Margarito ducking with all kinds of excuses

If he didn't 'want' to fight him again, then why did he sign a contract stipulating that he would have to? Why is he fighting him now and risking being stripped of the title that the rematch clause applies to, rather than taking care of his mandatory and still having time to fight the rematch within the contracted time?

Why did he not first fight Diaconu, then fight Tarver in a unification match, where he wouldn't have had to agree to any such clauses?

He would have got paid more, have two titles rather than, at most one, and possibly none depending on Cloud's mandatory status, and be in a far better position overall.

Lots of people tried to justify Dawson's actions by saying that (a) Tarver was a bigger money fight (b) it was still for a title and (c) it was a better fight for Dawson's resume. Well we know (a) was bollocks, as Dawson got paid less for Tarver than he would have for Diaconu. Does anyone really still want to claim that Tarver x 2 winding up with no titles was a better route for Dawson than Diaconu then Tarver = unified LHW champion?

 

If Margarito already fought, Clottey & Williams how is he ducking them?

#2 - Paul was never scared to fight Margo, and had to chase him down to do it the first time.

#3 - Williams never refused to fight. He contested Margarito's petition to void the results of the first fight. When Margarito started that ***** ****, he decided to go ahead and unify.
