Yeah, that's what I feared.:-( BILD's reports weren't good at all, and their sources are usually very good.
Remeber Dawson highest weight is only 7 pounds north of 168 that is why I believe him. Oscar has fought at 160 and was quite a bit older than Chad.:deal
I always thought it should have been Pavlik or Dawson instead of Ward in the Super 6. . .wouldn't be fair for Chad Dawson to inherit Taylor's 0 points handicap imo.
Even with the zero pt handicap, it would be likely he sweeps Ward and Kessler and coasts into the single elimination rounds.
Yeah I've heard the same. But if that's true, why is he fighting in what may be the weakest weight class in boxing?
Dawson would be an excellent addition into an already excellent competition. I don't agree that he would sweep through it without any trouble though. He is a damn fine boxer, and a good chance to win. But we can't forget that he was very close to losing to Johnson. Now Johnson is a bloody good fighter too - but I think he proved that Dawson is beatable. And Dawson will be going in against a whole lot of bloody good fighters; he will also possibly be drained by making the weight... Yeah, he has a chance but I wouldn't be acting like it was a certainty. Maybe his rematch with Johnson will show us a bit more of what to expect.
