Diaconu wins by KO, or Chad by SD. Diaconu fought well last time, but lacked stamina in the last 2 rounds. I don't see Diaconu drawing big time in Canada because hes not THAT big here. Unless he comes with a very good canadian undercard(Sebastien Demers, Jean Pascal), it wont make THAT much money.
It could be because he doesn't want to knock Diaconu through the ropes and not have it called a knockdown like with Henry. Honestly folks find a place and lets get this fight underway. This is a HUGE fight for the LHW division and there's no reason for it to NOT get done. Let Tarver dick around in obscurity for all I care.
Let me translate this statement for you: "The venue still needs to be hashed out" means that hes a ***** and doesn't want to fight in Canada. And "he might drop his belt and face tarver instead means that" He doesn't give a **** about the fight, he'll fight a guy for more or equal money who is a bigger name and offers less of a threat. I'd normally hope for the guy in Tarver's position to kicks his pansy ass but in this case we'd replace a money grubbing limited talent ***** with a really annoying money grubbing limited talent *****. So pretty much not going to be happy however this unfolds.
Henry - a Texan - fought Diaconu in Romania recently and not only did he have no complaints about any of the issues mentioned above, but he thanked the Romanian promoter and the Romanians in general for the way he had been treated and for all made available to him. So...time to get your facts straight, buddy. Anyway...fighting in Romania is much safer than fighting in Germany, that's for sure!:yep
Why? Americans travel to Germany to fight the Russians/Ukrainians who are based there all the time... If they are willing to go to Germany, why wouldn't they be willing to go to Romania?:huh
Well, li'l C...it's because Diaconu is a mandatory and because Diaconu's promoter won the purse bid. When the mandatory's promoter wins the purse bid, the promoter decides where to make the fight, not the Champ! This is not a voluntary defence where the Champ can pick the location...this is a MANDATORY DEFENCE!:smooch
Diaconu v. Dawson will take place in 3 months' time in Bucharest, it seems. http://www.rds.ca/boxe/chroniques/253677.html ...unless, Chad Bad is so desperate to duck Diaconu for good that he drops the belt and a career-high pay-day of over one million US dollars...:barf :hi:
Chad is an idiot for publicly stating he would not fight in Romania. Of course then Interbox will stage the fight in Romania, so that Chad refuses to fight, and Diaconu becomes WBC champ without ever fighting Dawson, a fight he would likely lose anyways
He's the ****ing champ, and you're calling him a prima donna for not wanting to go to Europe because he thinks the fight will be bigger in Canada .. or even USA? please.. let me laugh :rofl
Dawson beat Adamek and Johnson.. whilst Diaconu beat who? oh yes, thats right.. Henry and Rico Hoye Naturally, Bad Chad is the betting favorite, and he's the champ at 175... and people on here take any chance they get on calling him a chicken and a ducker.. if he was so afraid, why didn't he avoid Glencoffe.. who is 10x more experienced, stronger and has three times Adrians stamina? Dawson KTFO rd8 Diaconu
Laugh away. Diaconu is the mandatory and his promoter won the purse-bid, so according to the rules, Dawson has no say about the location of the fight. He's the Champ, and if his promoter, Shaw, thought as much about Dawson's location preference as you and the rest of them seem to think, he'd have made a proper bid and won it! Everyone knew the Romanians were trying to give Dawson $1m on a 60/40 split. If Dawson is unhappy with the location, he should blame his promoter for not having backed him up. End of story!
