I see Diaconu winning by late KO in a great fight

dawson 12-0 unless diaconu has a weak chin.

i do not think dawson will get a ko as he will be to cautious and respectfull of diaconu`s power to take any chances and dawson will box a very conservative fight from the outside easily picking diaconu off, but not willing to stand in the pocket and plant his feet and try for a ko.

It won't take long for Diaconu to mangle Dawson into something that barely resembles his former self. Perhaps you should watch the Hoye fight to give you an idea of how your hero will meet his demise. Cheers:good

Yo, no offence man but Chad Dawson and Rico Hoye are two completely different fighters. Chad Dawson is classes above Hoye.

I have changed my mind...I cannot see this fight going twelve rounds after all; not unless Diaconu is a saint...

Dawson is superb; he is an excellent boxer, so polished, so talented.

He boxes like an elegant fencer, keeping great distance, using his jab very well to keep opponents at bay, lunging very fast to the body, and setting up nice one-two's, before throwing nice combinations.

His great balance, excellent footwork and superior foot positioning allows him much economy of movement and purpose...You are crazy to try an box with him...not even Adamek could do it effectively.

The imprevisible, precise punching Dawson will use his hight advantage very well over the clumsy Diaconu. Adrian's footwork is no way close to being good enough to allow him to compete. He will crouch an take guard agains the jabs that keep flying in as Dawson dances around him...Dawson will just rip Diaconu up when he tries to box...He will move quickly backwards out of the way every time Diaconu pounces or rushes him, punishing him as he comes in, turning him and hitting to the body, sapping Diaconu's strength like a bullfighter does with a charging bull.

After a couple of rounds in which he is completely outboxed and hit again and again, Diaconu will make a move...if not for any other reason but desperation. He will pounce, taking a big risk.

If he gets past the jab and past Dawson's punches and bullies him somehow agains the ropes, he will have to be very cool, very decisive and very lucky - he will not gt more than a couple of seconds at best to have a go before Dawson is out again, dancing around him, punishing him. It's his only chance and he knows it.

But Dawson will expect it...he will hit back against the ropes and hit Diaconu to the body, turn him and stab him again and again. I cannot see the referee letting this go on for too long. If Diaconu doesn't finish Dawson when he has that very small chance, having rushed him agains the ropes, he will be stopped himself. 9/10 Dawson stops him as he comes in, driving. Diaconu simply cannot take it for 12 rounds...he will have a go and most likely pay for it. I am looking very much forward to seeing Dawson react to that mad, desperate pressure, though. Diaconu will not be timit like Adamek; intead, he will be reckless.

I predict a Dawson stoppage by the 9th...unless Diaconu is a saint and takes his punishment patiently for 12 rounds, looking desperately for that opening that never comes...

I forgot to mention Dawson's uppercuts...they will work a treat in opening up Diaconu's guard, as he stands there, crouched in a foetal position.

No doubt he will, especially against Diaconu to break his tight come-forward, stalking guard. And it will work a treat! Diacou will of course hope to pounce with a haymaker, opening up wide, as Dawson is exposed, but Dawson will keep his distance too well and will be too quick!

Thing is...Diaconu will not stay there to take all that punishment for Dawson just so that his opponent grows in confidence and humiliates him, taking round after round. He knows that he WILL stop Dawson if he hurts him...so he will go for broke pretty early on, before Dawson has a chance to establish himself too much...I think by round 3-4, Diaconu will start making a serious move.
