I dont think Taylor is more skilled than Tarver. Tarver is a smarter fighter with good skills. Taylor has better natural assets than Tarver like speed and quickness but i dont think he is more skilled.

No way, this was a good fight, don't understand why people are considering it boring, the fight had some nice moments/exchanges. Not the most boring fight and not even close.

The guy has **** for stamina. I don't even think it would be a challenge for Calzaghe and I'm a lot closer to Baltimore than I am to Wales.

I've seen worse fights many, many times. Each guy got buzzed more than once and it was somewhat competitive. Tarver never been that exciting to begin with though. His combination of the power in his left hand and his tactical style makes for boring fights. His first fight with RJJ was similar to this.

In fact I would say that the Hopkins fight was more boring than this fight. That fight consisted of BHop landing three or four right hands a round immediately followed by BHop grabbing Tarver and holding on for 30 seconds at a time.

Taylor-Froch wasn't a fiscal success (and the early return for Penalosa-JuanMa is good) so I doubt they're kicking themselves.

You forget how good Tarver is and how hard it must of been for Dawson to get motivated for this fight. If you think Dawson would fight Hopkins or Calzaghe the same way he fought Tarver, it's not going to happen. Dawson would fight much better because he would have every reason too.

    Don't take this guy serious.

Dawson has stamina problems, but when he's motivated he can go 12 rounds non-stop punching, he did it against Harding and Adamek.

You are selling Tarver way too short my friend. For a guy on the decline, he has great instincts combined with top-rate defense. Honestly, besides Hopkins, who has looked spectacular against him?? You can take only what your opponent is willing to give. Some of you guys are so damn quick to criticize without looking at the whole picture

Chad Dawson is only 26yrs old. No doubt in my mind he will dominate in due time

this is like the 10th thing I've read that you posted about this fight being boring. I guess tactical boxing is lost on you. wald iggy was x100 worse. i actually enjoyed this fight more than I thought I would.

This was not a good fight. It was like was like watching a sparring session at the start of a training camp.

Tarver was ridiculously slow and only capable of fighting about a minute a round. Why Dawson (who is supposedly so talented) couldn't dominate or apply steady pressure to break the old man is beyond me. If that's a good fight, I'd hate to see a bad one.

    Yeah,

thing is it is hard to pick a Hops fight at this point.

I really doubt he will look as good as he did against Pav, that was insane, IMO one of the single greatest sporting performances considering his age and the guy he was fighting.

If he is the other Hops that we had been seeing for years before the Pav fight I think Dawson wins on activity alone, if it is Pavlik Hops he kills Dawson.

Tarver is a good fighter? I mean even aging, he's still a good tough fighter.
