I'm in no way trying to discredit Dawson. There aren't too many guys I think would beat him, but Hopkins would, IMO.
Perhaps, I just find it very disconcerting that he was so ho-hum after the fight. Kellerman was asking him questions, and he was answering as if he really didnt give a **** either way. Not rude, but simply not interested. For having a belt and being the so called Young Lion at 175 and the best in the division, and to be fighting on HBO, he didnt sell himself at all. Thats not good. Not that he has to be obnoxious, but there was not shout out to fans, no thanking of promoters or friends or anybody, no "Im happy to be here", no promises of things to come. Just "I'll watch the tape, yeah..I'll fight whoever my promoter says". It could be the wife and kids actually. He has made decent money already fighting. If he is happy at home, financially secure and such, he really might not have any real motivation. Also, his lack of killer instinct, that is BAD. When a champion fighter has no killer instinct, that is a mental problem, they are not truly motivated. I dont think he feels he has anything to prove, and that him having the belt is enough. He is gonna get shocked by somebody. And I also know why he is refusing to give Johnson a rematch
Tarver would still beat alot of fighters out there from 168 to 200. Hell I would give Tarver a 60/40 shot at beatting Bute, and all of the other belt holders at 175.
Actually Dawson has called him out, but Hopkins in the other hand is content with just calling out handpicked opponents.
Joe Calzaghe is a great fighter. He should not sully his awesome record of achievement, undefeated record and legacy as the greatest supermiddleweight fighter of all-time and perhaps the greatest pure talent to ever lace up a pair of boxing gloves. He would be arrested for domestic violence if he rematched the crying, faking low blow Hopkins and Dawson would be Joe's ***** within three or four rounds. The third round of Joe vs. Roy Jr. fight was a showcase for the 'Pride of Wales." Joe was simply awesome and I hope his detractors get married to ugly women and have babies who look like monkies. As if they have any choice.:hi::rasta:hi:
Hopkins does not like high-output, skilled boxers. He prefers to dismantle sluggers. Dawson would win a decision. It would likely resemble the Calzaghe fight.
Totally agree, when the closest thing to an interesting opponent is the winner of the Diaconu Pascal fight you're in trouble. I would love to see him against Froch think he'd do him too. Froch walks around at less then the LHW limit so he'd have a huge size disadvantage, Dawson is younger then Jermain, and Dawson has many more punches in his arsenel then JErmain.
Like I said before you Calzaghe whores get dissected and proven as boxing dimwits all the ****ing time. Calzaghe had tougher fights with journeyman...lol than Dawson had with ****ing Tarver. Calzaghe also got hurt more often and has shitty defense. Calzaghe CANT punch for **** and has not stopped ANY top level opponent ever. Dawson would not approach a fight with Calzaghe with the same gameplan. There is no big equalizer his foot work aint **** and his he is there to be hit. Plus Dawson is stronger than him. Like I said, name the fighter Calzaghe fought on the level of a Johnson or Tarver or ****ing even Adamek at that point in his career. :rofl Oh and 175 is a shitty division...guess what you inbred whores 168 was bull**** when Calzaghe reigned. Lacy ran through and picked up titles. Enough ****ing said.
No way. Calzaghe is a machine with inexplicably good stamina. Dawson has all types of stamina issues, and has shown a pattern of consistently fading down the stretch. He does not fight every minute of every round, he fights in spurts. It is true, his hand speed would trouble Hopkins at times, but the way Dawson takes breaks....Hopkins will know when to turn up the heat.
