+ Hopkins has one of the most accurate straight right hands in the business and the footwork to set it up.

Eh... Tarver is a pretty effective fighter. You'd think Dawson just struggled with a blown up Gary Lockett with the way people are talking. Dawson made some poor choices and he consistently underperformed in spots, but this wasn't that dramatic.

Well I am a Anthony Tarver fan, nothing really against Dawson that much. Why the hell wasn't this fihgt promoted more by HBO?

Only 26 years old? :huh As a boxer he is middle aged, and sadly that is how he looked. It does not matter whether Tarver is the best or the worst in the division, Dawson had to knock him out. Going the distance against a 40 year old who is obviously past his prime and vulnerable, does not impress the fans nor the promoters. If you can't draw the fans, you don't make the money. That is what professional boxing is about...money. Somebody neglected to inform Dawson that skinny paychecks are related to skinny performance.

And really you guys at ESB, I for me this is abig deal. It's a long story and I am going to get personal and emotional with you all. For me when I first saw the Tarver Dawson fihgt, really I think it was it may have not been the same two. It was in 2005 with my uncle jeff. My parents and I and my dad's two brother went with my dad's side of the family to a place in Virginia for an Army reunion. And we stayed in a hotel. And we couldn't sleep and we watched this fight in the lobby of the hotel. So I guess it's a little strange. IMO thanks for letting me say that though.

Yep, maybe. And Calzaghe is the guy who walks into people's best stuff out of habit. Dawson keeps firing with both hands throughout. I'd still pick Dawson without much question.

For some reason people are still under the misconception that Dawson is concerned with getting roughed up or assaulted. This kid plays the cowboy with intent. Anybody who wants to beat Dawson better hurt him badly and finish the job. He's not going to lay down.

Dawson was obviously unmotivated for the fight, can you blame him? He still won clearly.

I think Dawson would have the motivation to really step up his game and outbox Cloud to a decision, just my educated opinion.

It's not Dawson disappointing, Tarver just showed up offering EVERYTHING he has and fighting like he knows it's his last chance. It's good to see Dawson fighting back and pulling it off, he did try to score a big punch and possibly get a KO and was countered and hurt so he went back to fighting his usual fight and securing rounds. This just proves that Tarver is not a joke and was there trying his very best rather than Dawson disappointing.

I do not believe Kessler or Bute would beat him, but Calzaghe and Hopkins would.
