Dawson/Erdei please!

    I'm surprised you have Hopkins ranked that highly, to be honest.

    Good post, but that's wrong.

    Erdei lost 10-12 rounds against Garay (in two fights), some rounds against Sahoune and Lakatusch (spelling?).

    There are rumours that Erdei-Garay III is next. Any information if that's true?

    Hey Axe! I quite disagree with you here, I doubt Dawson (or Adamek for that matter) could stop Erdei but I agree when you say that Dawson's natural build up, his height and reach advantage together with his southpaw stance might be a bit too much for Erdei. I see a close fight with Dawson being more active thus winning a close decision.

    Erdei-Adamek? Now that's tough but I think Erdei has the skills to outbox the Pole. His stamina problem is fixed now (it was due to some nutrition problems), he won't gas out.
    Adamek called Erdei out? Come on! It's one thing to send an open letter to different sites but sending a real offer is something else. An open letter is like throwing a bone to the fans. Erdei's management never received any concrete offer from Adamek's camp.

    I've only seen the two Garay bouts and the other recent ones, which he has dominated Gonzalez well and some others, I was impressed with those bouts. He also won 11 rounds to 1 against Ulrich on my card.

    I don't know anything about Erdei's matchmaking...

    Hopkins is #4 for me as well....but I have Woods at #2 over Erdai.

    Top 5 is fair, my rankings aren't really out of the ordinary per say, but they do take certain factors that most establishments don't into the consideration and I do put a 'marginal' emphasis on the H2H factor, in which Hopkins is maybe top 8 H2H at LHW at best, but he did shutout Tarver and then the Wright win looks good 'on paper', but holds no real relevance to LHW at all.

    #4 is about right IMO. Woods at #3.

    Woods over Erdei is reasonable. But I had Johnson drawing with him last time out and I take that into consideration. Erdei also defeated Gonzalez clearer, who Woods just fought twice recently.

    Interesting how after all of these damn debates with bias from every corner of boxing taste and how we're agreeing on many of these things involved.

    Works for me. I agree with having him ranked there, but for some reason I thought you'd have him lower.

    It's a mess. Can you imagine the Ring belt if Jones beats Trinidad and somehow takes a decision from Hopkins? RJJ once again ruling as your supreme being at 175? :nut

    If it will be a mandatory, and those who are in higher position on the rankings don't want to fight Erdei then it's possible that Garay will be named by the WBO. He's no.6 if my memory serves well.

    Well yes, it's very blatant in fact, but fans eat it up.

    Regardless, when you have no ammunition really OTHER than the fact that the match ups are not at the top class of the division, but just money makers, you still cannot drop a guy to the lower top 10 when he's considered by most as the current champion, even if you really want to just take him off the map totally.:lol:

    Nah, I really respect Hopkins, but he just needs to either fight a top level LHW and get his final serving and payday, or retire gracefully.

    True enough. I love Hopkins and view him as an all-time genetic freak, regardless of sport. To maintain continuously for so long in a combat sport, it blows my mind.

    But I don't like the way he and Tarver have tried to take the division hostage. It's time for new blood.
