I don't think he lost that fight at all. I think Johns did good to bring the pressure, but was throwing single punches, while Dawson was landing brilliant combinations. Johnson may have had the harder shots, but Dawson had the more crisp, snappy punches that were on target.

Johnson fought well, but Dawson had an answer for almost everything (except that one shot in the 1oth...ouuuucchhh). But even there, Johnson have a minute to finish him... Had he thrown a combo or tow....

dawsons a young fighter who obviously wasnt used to the determination of a guy like johnson. everyone knew that this was going to be a tough fight for him because johnson wasnt going to give him any breathing room. as for my scorecard i had it 115-113 in favor of dawson, and although i feel for johnson bc he fought his heart out i honestly dont think i could ever score the fight for him. those that are probably just are haters of dawson or got excited when he "almost" pulled the upset. in my honest opinion now that he is past this tough test he will look much better in the future no matter who he fights.

GJ is no joke and gives EVERYBODY tough fights.
I think highly of Chad Dawson and he is still young.

I would actually like to see him fight Kessler at 168

If Dawson was exposed then you also have to believe Glen Johnson isn't much of a fighter.

For me, I scored the fight with Dawson losing a close fight to a very underrated Johnson. Johnson has one helluva a chin because he took some pretty wicked shots in that fight himself.

I saw the fight live and my take on Dawson is he fought a stupid and foolish fight. He underestimated Johnson's abilities. Granted Johnson isn't a one punch ko artist but when you just stand right in front and trade with anyone you're gonna get tagged needlessly. When Dawson incorporated lateral movement he was much more effective.

Hopefully Dawson learned from this fight. He's young and still developing.

Also I thought Tarver fought a great fight against Woods. His tactics were perfect against the totally bewildered Woods. Woods looked just awful in that fight. The man has terrible punching accuracy. Maybe it was Tarver but at times he just couldn't hit anything and also looked like he can't pull the trigger on his punches.

goddamnit, its like once you guys start feeling bad for someone, youll go to any lengths to make excuses for them.

Dawson won 8 rounds to 4, the judges were right, Glen Johnson has been in many close fights, some are bound not to go his way...this fight was no robbery. A robbery wouldve been the judges giving the fight to Johnson.

Wow, now a guy WINS and he's exposed, I guess because you have to perform at your best every time. The way it is today, anyone who loses is exposed. I garauntee that if Joe loses sat against Hopkins, he is exposed, AND if Hopkins loses, the haters will say HE is exposed. and that his age is a factor, even though Joe is no spring chicken anymore :patsch

Everyone goes life and death with Glen Johnson. Some he wins, some he loses. Clinton Woods, Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones, and now Chad Dawson. Johnson is one of the most underrated fighters of our era no doubt, but just because someone won a close UD over him doesnt make them exposed.

:happy :happy I know. Boxing fans can be such perfectionists is ridiculous:-( Dawson won a hard fought fight against a seasoned vet. Just because he didn't thump Johnson around the ring for 36 minutes dosen't make him exposed!! If you believe he's exposed in some way, then your taking away froma great performance from Johnson who did enough to make it a very close competitive fight.

Dawson 8-4. He'll be a better fighter from this fight and he should take on Tarver next.

We knew already that Dawson did not have a great chin, but he stayed in there, very composed, and won the fight outboxing Johnson from a distance. He also proved he has a great workrate even while he is hurt.

Hats off to Eddie Mustafa Muhammed I thought his advise to Dawson was masterful. He knew was Dawson had to do to win the fight, box box and box some more. Telling him not to look for the KO, it will come naturally(of course it was Johnson so the KO did not come), not to sit inside and trade with Johnson and use his strengths against him. The only time the Showtime commentators pissed me off is when they were saying "ok we get your point" about Eddie giving his fighter advice. That was bull**** he was protecting his fighter and trying to help him get a huge victory.

After that huge 10th round were Johnson caught him and his his legs rubbery. Muhammad calmed Dawson down and said "these are where the Championship rounds begin" as a fighter who respects his trainer Dawson knew that Muhammad was saying the last 6 minutes would define his championship carrer up to that point. He listened and dug down deep.

Dawson showed he has blazing speed, as well as great hand speed, great accuracy, a fantastic jab, a great variety of punches on offense, good defense, some of the best footwork I have seen in a long fighter (amazing when you consider how young he is), TONS of heart, the ability to adapt, etc. All vs one of the toughest fighters in the game....

Damn right he was exposed....exposed as one of the best young talents in the game.
