Dawson: "Hopkins, I Don't Care About The Money, Let's Fight"

He was stunned in more than 1 round.

I'd take Hopkins by KO over Dawson. Someone with Chad's lack of adaptability wouldnt be able to deal with someone with a multi-faceted approach like a Calzaghe or a Hopkins, certainly not the tricks of Hopkins.

Also with Chad's lack of killer instinct, Hopkins would spot that a mile off.

 

He had Dawson hurt pretty bad twice in that fight it doesn't matter though cause he didn't go down and Chad won 8 rounds of that fight.

 

I tell you what, there's one aspect that makes this fight extremely interesting, and it's the handspeed issue- Dawson throws faster than Hopkins, and that's one of the biggest keys to beating him. If you've got it, you've at least got a chance victory.

The question is, would the advantages in speed and size be enough to compensate for the other flaws in Dawson's game? That, I'm not sold on, even though it was enough for Jermain Taylor to take two razor thin decisions. As of now, the breaks he takes in fights would probably still be his undoing against someone who can pick his shots, sports a great lead right, and can rough him up on the inside- all 3 of which of which Hopkins excels at.

as much as i'd like to see it, this fight isn't gonna happen. hopkins knows he would have the most trouble with dawson and at this point he's not gonna flirt with taking a loss. he wants one more big fight that he knows he can win in impressive fashion to go out on. that's obviously why he's calling out froch.
