B-Hop looked shot against Pascal. His reflexes, speed, sharpness, and legs have slowed down a ton. I'd take Dawson as well.
Hopkins and Dawson DID in fact engage in a professional fight. It lasted six minutes. In those six minutes, Dawson was beating the dog **** out of Hopkins. Then, at the end of round 2, Hopkins jumped on Dawson's back (not a legal boxing maneuver) for the third time in the fight.
Give me a break. I'd back Dawson to win a rematch, but beating the dog **** out of Hopkins? If you truly think that, you need to do two things. The first: rewatch the fight (had Dawson 2-0 by the way). The second: up your standards as to what constitutes an ass kicking. Dawson landed a few punches and controlled Hopkins with his jab. Far less rocky a first two rounds than what Pascal presented in either fight.
Barring a young Roy Jones, no one has ever scored a totally decisive win against Hopkins, and even then it certainly wasn't EASY. If Dawson does win, it will be close and ugly. I'll take Hopkins myself. Dawson will inevitably suffer from mental lapses and lack of focus as he always does, and if Nazim lets Hopkins go through a successful training camp then that's good enough for me to believe that Hopkins will pounce on these opportunities and capitalize. Hopkins UD for me.
Its funny how Dawson had hopkins on the floor and was beating him up early before AS USUAL Hopkins adapted, and yet apparently he wont do the same against sad chad. Hopkins will clown this ponce
Yeah but this isn't the same Hopkins. Hopkins will ***** and whine the whole fight then act suprised when the 117-111 cards are read. But like I said, this fight won't happen. Keith
We disagree on how this fight plays out, but regarding whether or not it actually happens I think it depends tremendously on whether or not Hopkins can land a fight with Bute. He's been big on that matchup since even before the rematch with Pascal actually took place. Hopkins would stand to make more money and would (at least IMO) be facing a less challenging foe in Bute. The only thing is, I'm really not sure if Hopkins can land the Bute fight. If that's the case, where does that leave him? At the end of the day, it appears neither Hopkins nor Dawson is very keen on the idea of fighting Sillakh. I'm hoping Pascal takes the fight with Sillakh, but I'm not so sure that will happen either.
