:yep I was alittle surprised Dawson focused southwards instead of northwards. Not complaining tho good move by Dawson good fights vs the 168lbers. Hes talented enough to do good any weight upwards of 168 I think.
Regardless of how boring it may be, anyone that says they are a fan of the sweet science should want to see these two men fight. Personally I enjoy clash of wits between two great technicians.:good
Ward vs Dawson. P4P must boring fight... But since Ward has no intentions of fighting Bute, then i would love to see him take on Chad Dawson
Dawson is a much more harder fight for Ward than Bute is:deal Ward schools Bute but against Dawson he will have his hands full. Dawson is the much more proven fighter not only that he's much bigger than Bute.
This is a logical step for boxing. If Ward were to beat Dawson convincingly, he's top3 P4P for me, EASILY. Due to the fact that he'd beat a large, technically sound LHW.
All the variables mentioned here are all excellent match-ups! I agree in Ward facing Bute eventually, but there's nothing wrong with Ward fighting Dawson in the meantime...
I would prefer to see Dawson/Pacal II and Ward/Bute first. Both Americans would be favored to win those matchups, so if they take care of business they can fight each other. As much as I like Ward, his fighting Dawson will leave him open to more criticism than acclaim from his numerous detractors. Yes, Dawson is bigger and stronger than Bute, but he has a very small following. Take the money, shut up the detractors, then move on.
Being a Bute fan I would obviously prefer to see Bute-Ward, Dawson-Pascal 2, and the winners fighting each other. - Ward just lost his belt because of his injury, and if the WBC stripped Ward after only 6 months of inactivity, it means his injury is bad enough that Dre won't be available for a while, fall or maybe even early winter. - Bute is fighting Froch soon, should he win, he's available for this fall. - Dawson just fought and had 2 big cuts, I guess he isn't available until august or even september. - Pascal should be fighting Cloud next (unless Don King fu<ks everything up again) around august, he's the only one of the 4 who might be unavailable until november/december (maybe Ward but we can't know for sure yet). So imagine - Bute-Ward late 2012 for the IBF-WBA-Ring belts (168 ) - Pascal-Dawson late 2012 for the WBC-IBF-Ring belts (175) - Winners of both fights in an ultimate 168-175 showdown, with the losers fighting each other on the undercard.
I buy that! In a financial perspective, I think Ward-Dawson is a bit too soon for them to really make a big fight. Your scenario makes a mega fight possible in the short term.
I would rather see Ward-Bute first. Ward-Dawson will happen at some point in time; same with Bute-Pascal.
Ward schooling Bute is what I call a fantasy. You're entitled to live in your dreams but try not to mix them with the reality.
