Oh come one now, we all know NBO is right and he is the smartest guy in this ESB community. We all better recognize his talents.
AHHH...I want to leave this thread. No, no reason at all except This content is protected and This content is protected This content is protected . Except for those things, there were no reasons for Dawson to fight Diaconu, you're right. atsch Read the article.
tarver was a bigger money fight than diaconu...and like I said they will fight soon...U can only fight one guy at a time...and he just got done ending tarvers career give him a bit to rest...who has diaconu beat again?
Look...don't get all frustrated. I understand mandatories....I honestly do. And I do think mandatories are necessary. However...you can't tell me you aren't fed up with all these "ABC" titles and all this BS that goes along wiht it. We have so many titles, so many organizations it's hard pressed to know who the REAL champion is at any given point in any given division nowadays. Diaconu deserves a shot....he really does but I don't think the "MAN" at LWH should be the shot he gets right now...Dawson and many other champions were looked over when they were mandatories but they continued on winning and made it impossible for them to be looked over again. Diaconu is a soild fighter...he has power and he can make some noise at 175....but he needs to contiue fighting and winning to set up a bigger even at 175.
And just to touch on this statemnt......At face value or on the surface it seems to make sense. But if you were paying attention to the facts and the situation surrounding "WHY" dawson relinquished his title it was for the fact he was looking to face more meaningful and tougher challenges. you can't knock a guy for being ambitious and competitive in nature. Just like Diaconu Dawson was looking out for #1...himself. There was a bigger payday and more accolades on the horizon if he decided to skip over the Diaconu fight.....it was a risk b/c Johnson and Tarver were two dangerous competitors, but it paid dividends.
1. So you're providing a link that verifies that Dawson DID sign to fight Diaconu (thus proving my point) as an answer to the question "why would Dawson fear Diaconu since he signed to fight him"...? :huh 2. How did he "repeatedly" run since he SIGNED TO FIGHT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE? :think 3. No, Dawson's accomplishments can't be compared overall to those of Calzaghe, I concur. But that is totally different from saying "Dawson is nothing", ain't it mate? Apart from that, if Calzaghe hadn't stated he is to retire after the Jones fight, I don't see why Dawson wouldn't be worthy to fight him. I mean, Diaconu is worthy of fighting for the Light-Heavyweight championship, but Dawson is not worthy of fighting against Joe? Double standards you got there.
Why all that talk about bum and nobody, when you are fighting on that level, you're not a bum or a nobody, but a serious fighter entertaining us, the boxing fans, show some respect!
You think that a nuthugging article proves your point? Honestly, this is what i tought when i read it (2 weeks ago?). I'm from Montreal and i like Diaconu a lot but i just don't believe that Dawson is scared.
Don't worry, I'm not frustrated. It's just the clarity of what I said is something I feel others would be able to easily see as well. If Dawson were not concerned with Diaconu, he would have simply fought him, made his then-career-high purse and kept the WBC belt. He did not, and that is because he fears Diaconu and wished, instead, to fight Old Men Tarver and Johnson. That's what I see. Your interpretation is obviously different. However, based on the repetitive ducking of Diaconu by Dawson, I feel good about my version. I'll be the first to tell you that if I were Dawson's team Diaconu would concern me and I might avoid him as well. I'm not saying it's a bad move, promotionally, but as a fan or a writer I have to call it like I see it. Same as Lewis ducking Corrie Sanders, PBF ducking Margarito, Margarito ducking a Williams rematch or any other situation. It's not personal with Chad Dawson, but that doesn't mean it gets pushed under the rug, either. Chad's just my latest 'debunk the frauds' cause. I'm a huge Margarito fan, but right now he and Arum don't want the Williams rematch, that's pretty clear. I can admit that. It's too bad fans of other fighters won't own up to their guys' avoiding certain bouts. I PRAY that Calzaghe fights Dawson, I really do. Provided he beats Jones. No one will be happier if the match is made than I will be. But I know that there isn't any reason Dawson, specifically, deserves the fight. Calz just beat The Ring's LHW titlist, now he's supposed to drop everything to fight a guy with one strap that went life and death with a 39 year old? C'mon. Peace out, to all on this thread, and thanks for the discussion. That includes you, King Dan. It's all good, and I don't hold any grudges or have too long a memory. The discussion should be lively, or else why write anything? :good
this forum is full off nuthuggers and arse lickers saying things to impress people you'll never meet! as for me having no boxing knowledge haha I dnt think Id be one of the top amatuer boxers in the uk with national titles and ABA titles if i didnt no about boxing or how to box, at the end of the day every one is entitled to there opinion but i cant stand people who call calzaghe a slapper or fought no one without ever stepping in a ring and getting hit ****ing hard yourself or going through the training to make weight etc
