One of the things that make me laugh each time is that people say "Chad Dawson is bigger / stronger than Hopkins" Chad Dawson is bigger / stronger than Joe Calzaghe". That's so stupid !

Yes, Chad Dawson is taller than them. But so is Paul Williams, and he fights at 147. Chad Dawson fought most of his career at 160 and 168. He moved to 175 just because he was given a title shot against Adamek ! The guy is very thin and can easily make 168 and even 160. He always says he walks around around 180 and every time I see that he makes the weight of 175 around a month before his fights !

Hopkins and Calzaghe are much wider than him naturally and both walk around 190-195. To think that Chad is bigger and stronger than them, especially when you talk about B-Hop, is absolute crazy.

I agree. Chad is tall and long, but he's not very big or strong. Hopkins would push him around the ring.

No Dawson moved up because he got to big for 160 and 168. You Idiot.

Dawson is only 26 he body grew while he was fighting and thus could make the weight no more. Please know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

I don't think he could make 160 anymore, but 168, he could make more easily than Bute, Kessler and Calzaghe.

You are the idiot that doesn't have a clue. I follow boxing for years, I read articles on a daily basis and I remember reading interviews with Gary Shaw saying Chad can easily make 160 and 168, but because of the high ranking they got from the WBC he will fight at 175.
If you think Chad can't make 168 now, then you are a damn fool.

I think Dawson looked bigger when he faced Tarver. He was only 172 against Johnson and looked smaller but in the Tarver fight, it looked he put on a bit more muscle.

What people say and what is actually the case are two things that don't always coincide. Not every article you read "on a daily basis" is going to give you facts.

Glenn Johnson, RJJ, Hopkins and Toney all started out as middleweights. You're argument is weak. I think Dawson could make 168 but why should he unless a big fight presents itself. He's probably the best 175 pounder right now next to Hopkins. The fight I really want to see is Hopkins/Dawson.

Bunch of funny guys. That article was just stated for the reason he fought Adamek. I heard Dawson himself say many times that he can easily make 168, and that for the right fight, he is willing to go even to 160 pounds.
If Chad "grew into the weight", how come he was 178 a month before his fight with Tarver ? If you think a natural 175 pounder weights 178 a month before a fight, none of you have a clue.

I also will be glad to see B-Hop outclass him.

Agreed. Hopkins is a strong guy, and bigger than many think. He was 180, supposedly, at fight time for Pavlik. Plus he's got the whole "Old Man Strength" thing going.

He already had 2 fights at LHW prior to facing Adamek. And what's the point of this thread? It's Dawson's speed and skill that guides him to victory, not his size.

you're an idiot if you think he can make 160 pounds, I dont think he can make 168 either.

Hopkins is pretty strong so he might have the edge but Id definitely say chad is stronger than calzaghe
