Dawson is so poor Woods would probably beat him.

I dont think he was fighting scared at all. He is a boxer first. He has good foot movement and defense - he might as well use it all to his advantage every fight. He has the skills to fight defensivly and should stick with that style. Especially when fighting an older granite chinned vet like johnson.

So, what do you now think of a Dawson-Diaconu fight? I'm not sure Dawson would finish the fight on his two feet.

I did think he was fighting the wrong fight against Johnson, that's for sure.

Regardless, this was a close, competitive, and entertaining contest.

Why WOULDN'T you want to see a rematch?

Regardless, Dawson sounded cowardly in the post-fight interview. That spoke volumes to me. Perhaps he just isn't quite seasoned enough to say the right things, but that was a terrible ****ing interview that made him sound like a complete wuss.

Fighting nothing but home town fights is what I was speaking to. Yeah, I think any fighter that does nothing but feast on home cooking is skewing the advantage. Whether it's a Florida fighter that fights only in Florida or a British fighter that fights only in Great Britain.

And Arran's statement about U.S. fighters not traveling to fight overseas is nonsense. Calzaghe's resume is peppered with U.S fighters.

I'm leaning towards Hopkins in a close tactical battle.

My biggest concern with Calzaghe is that I think he's done himself no favors by fighting a steady diet of hometown fights. The question of how he handles travel and not hearing thunderous ovations for just landing a jab is a legitimate one.

    Frankly I think it's a pick'em fight. I just wish 'Nard was 35 and not 42.

You have been DISQUALIFIED. Enough is enough of your constant trolling nonsense.

The troll patrol didn't work, but if veteran posters work together to disqualify blatant trolls/and or idiots, then have a knowledge of who is DQed and who is not, we can clean the place up for appropriate discussion.

A formed criteria is coming soon for disqualification. Posting stupid **** isn't grounds for being DQed, nuthugging is not either, but NOTHING but trolling and an excessive amount of both of these factors is.

    :rofl

I can't wait for the formal delineation between ignorance, trolling, and nuthugging.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch at all honestly I love glen johnson fights. But with glen johnson, he seems to lose worse on a rematch more than anything so it will prolly not be competitive. chad was not sounding cowardly, he was just feelin that he won the fight and was wondering what the **** glen was talking about how he got robbed and lost the fight. I was actually feeling the same way. Bad Chad will take over that division and beat calzaghe.

Before fighting Tarver.. Dawson has to lose against the winner of Henry and Diaconu (Which we all know will be Diaconu). So a fight against Tarver isn't happening anytime soon.

    Fair take.

I think Hopkins is a much better fighter and that he will prove this come Saturday. I also believe the odds-makers should have pegged this as a pick'em fight, but I am not complaining.

I expect Dawson to thoroughly outclass Diaconu. Johnson is a very good pressure fighter with an iron chin not to mention he's been in and beaten the very best. Diaconu is a limited puncher who will freeze up as soon as he steps up in class with the likes of Dawson. Chad's speed combination punching and movement will give The shark fits all night long. The experience of being in the ring with a fighter like Johnson and facing adversity will serve the young Dawson well.

    Probably NOT be competitive?????

Get the **** out of here! When asked about a rematch, he didn't even say "Sure, any place, anytime!" He should have at least pretended to want the rematch. Instead, he sounded like a bloke who had just gotten away with murder and wanted nothing to do with Johnson.

    It was pathetic.

  15. This isn't trolling, if it were trolling I wouldn't be posting statiscally backed analysis' of fighters at LHW and how they compare Amsterdam. Don't witch hunt me for saying Dawson isn't that great because I have always said that also when I was wrong I openly admitted it did I not? I draw particular attention here to David Hayes pummeling of Enzo where the next day I held out my hands to this community and stated I was stupidly wrong. Did I not? Hardly the actions of a troll but someone with integrity.

Don't accuse me of trolling just for starting a debate ok, that's what these forums are here for. I have never once said Dawson was anything other than overated and I said this in the lead up to the fight with Johnson. If I were a troll would I be posting stuff like this?

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57976

    No.

Plus, I don't put down other posters, I disagree with them yes, but never put them down nor throw personal insults.
