Dawson loses belt to Diaconnu!

and the WBC has the audacity to say they are "disillusioned" with dawson's decision....

maybe it's because he has the balls to chase more meaningful fights instead of dancing to the tune of blood-sucking federations?

 

On fightnews, the WBC said Dawson asked for permisson to not fight Diaconu in an eliminator and directly fight for the belt. They allowed it, dispite there own WBC rules.

Dawson better have a big fight lined up or he is going to look bad, Baddecisions.

 

So glad Chad opted to skip this crappy fight.

Disappointing as hell..

People will be saying that Dawson is scared of Diaconu when that is far from the truth. Some idiots will be calling Dawson a coward and a ****** and all that bull****, but what his team is doing does make sense, even though it's a dishonorable thing to do and as a Dawson fan, I think he deserves getting bashed a little bit for it. The funny thing is, this fight would have already happened almost a year ago if Diaconu never got injured.

Dawson is trying to get rid of Tarver before someone else does. His team understands that Tarver is a good payday that will be gone very soon (plus he's coming off of what people consider an impressive comeback performance against Woods, if Tarver has another fight while Chad fights Diaconu, Tarver might look horrible against someone else). Diaconu will still be there later. The fight will happen, we'll just have to wait and hope that Diaconu doesn't lose to someone else before it does.

Anyways, Dawson TKO 7 Diaconu. This doesn't change anything, there will just be another B- level titleholder in the weak LHW division now. Dawson and Diaconu will meet as long as they both win.

Chad Dawson has informed the WBC that he will not defend his WBC light heavyweight championship against Adrian Diaconu and therefore is relinquishing the title. Both fighters had gone to a purse offer that was won by Romanian promoter Gangkor Promotions.

The WBC has released the following statement: The WBC feels very disillusioned with Dawson’s decision, as he was going to make the highest purse of his life against Diaconu, as well as the WBC always supporting Dawson since he won the WBC Continental Americas title in 2003 and later asking permission to the organization not to fight Adrian Diaconu in a final elimination bout, but be allowed to fight directly against Tomasz Adamek for the title in a voluntary defense, which the WBC accepted and to become the WBC champion of the world in 2007. Once again the WBC supported Chad Dawson allowing him to make a voluntary defense against Glen Johnson, in which Chad Dawson signed a letter agreeing to fight Diaconu next. It happens that he found the way not to fight Diaconu again. It seems that the reason for Dawson not to comply with the WBC Rules is because a commitment that he has with a television network, which is apparently interfering with the rights and infrastructure of the WBC, which must be addressed in the near future.

Dawson is taking a bigger fight with IBF champ Tarver, who is a better fighter than Diaconu and will bring in more money.

Diaconu is the one who backed out of the fight when the fight was scheduled for September 2007. Fight night was only 2 weeks away and suddenly Diaconu backs out because of a mysterious injury... so enough of this scared bull****. Dawson was ready to pound this chump..

Diaconu should thank his lucky stars he even got by Chris Henry. Because many people scored that one for Henry. He's lucky he had the hometown edge.. Now Diaconu gets a title and he doesn't have to suffer his first loss to Dawson. If anything, Diaconu hypers should be grateful to Dawson.. this is the best outcome they could've hoped for :deal
