Why people are cheering this is beyond me. Dawson won that belt convincingly and now Diaconu gets it handed to him because the WBC didn't like the idea of their champion fighting in a unification bout. Ridiculous as always. Tarver is a good career move for Dawson. There will be plenty of time for CD and AD to fight. Tarver is the right fight to take for Chad.

The reason why this match isn't happening is because Showtime was not interested in buying a rescheduled Dawson-Diaconu fight at the expense of getting the match it has wanted all along, Tarver-Dawson. Don't worry Dawson and Diaconu will fight, that's if Diaconu can get passed Johnson first.

Duckin' Dawson, I am sure regrets not fighting Diaconu but he would lose-classic catch 22!

Lost his belt and 1.2 million dollars-ouch!

Dawson should have fought Diaconu, collected his 1.2 million $, and then fought Tarver in the fall.

Its not like he is already signed to fight Tarver

I don't see why Dawson didn't just get him out of the way, but im not too troubled by it, Diaconu can pump my nads to be honest, he doesn't deserve a belt.

Talk about biting the hand that fed you. The WBC didn't have to allow him to bypass Diaconu and go right to Adamek, but they did. Props to Chad for making the most of it, but I would've rather the Tarver-Dawson fight been for unification as well. Now? There might be too many burned bridges for a Diaconu-Dawson fight for at least the near future.

Also funny is that if you add the age difference between Dawson and his last 2 opponents (Johnson and Tarver, assuming that happens), you'd wind up with a fighter 3 years older than Chad himself since there's nearly a 30 year combined age difference.
