But with Cotto the fight was also mechanical. He didn't get hit because he was drained, he got hit because he was coming forward behind a jab with no sense of lead foot positioning. Was Dawson drained against Pascal when he couldn't deter his in and out movements? Was he weak? Or just a sucker for ambush fighters who can't do much if you neutralize his jab with movement?

Thats on Dawson. He was the one who called Ward out and said, after his BHOP victory, that he would move down in weight.

    His fault.

The rematch would have Dawson ending 12-0, maybe 11-1, 10-2 but he wouldn't do anything more than he did already. He just wouldn't get stopped this time.

Agree with both. Pacq still would have that speed which would always trouble Cotto. Ward would always have his "bully" tactics and craftiness to make Dawson defer. Great point with Pascal, Dawson wasn't drained he was outsmarted and fought the wrong fight. Educated movement(Pascal and recently Ward) is what troubles Dawson as well as constant pressure(Johnson 1, Ward).

Reason why he did his best with ol farts Tarver & Hopkins but despite that Dawson is massively talented I just always question where his mind is at and his discipline to follow a gameplan.

Anyone who thinks Ward beat a 100% healthy Dawson is a moron.

Dawson was in awful shape but Ward beats him at 175 too.
