This is brilliant. A unification bout might create some excitement in the LHW division and will finally give Dawson a good young opponent.

 

That does make sense, finding his way to major American TV exposure has been an uphill battle for Pascal.

That is a promotional problem. Just 20 years ago, you would get HUGE PPV cards with 5 title fights, sometimes 4 of them would be pound for pound contenders, so everyone would get exposure.

Now everyone gets hyped as a mian eventer because they have a belt.

I mean, couldn't Dawson get on the undercard of the Pac-Clottey fight against a tune up for the belt.?

You'd think so, right. Why not? Especially for a guy trying desperately to build a fan base and increase his marketability.

 

Yea unfying the tiitles would be a big move in the LHW division, it would also make Dawson a huge target when he wins. Should be interesting.

 

awesome. i've been waiting for this one. it's gonna be a good fight, but there's no doubt in my mind that dawson takes it relatively easily.

 

Yeah. Some folks claim the Pascal from the Froch fight has improved mightily, some say the fans perceptions are what has changed mightily. I just don't see anything but a Dawson win in this one.

Dawson shouldn't even bother fight Pascal until he's completely healed, and I doubt that he will be completeled healed on June 19. Until then Dawson should fight Beibut Shumenov.
