    Why are the 1st 3 accepted as ATG or put into peoples P4p list so easily yet the latter 4 are often regarded as overated or frauds?

    Because so called boxing fans on here don't have a clue what boxing is all about.

    I appreciate all of the above, the ones who does not should take a hard look in the mirror and get back to reality.

    Agreedt all 7 are great "fighters or boxers" and bring something good to the table, be it skills or heart or willingness to fight anyone.

    Not once have i seen Dawson, Pavlik or Williams referred to as ATG's and i haven't seen Dawson or Pavlik in a p4p list in ages.

    Easy, TV networks overhype Americans leading everyone to believe they are much better than thy actually are.

    Americans = 1st 3

    Europeans = last 4.

    I don't know about the ATG talks, but the first 3 definitely have/had a lower barrier to entry for making the P4P lists- which shouldn't be that big a surprise given who the Ring's main market is.

    Maybe ATG was a knee jerk reaction but i do see a trend of how highly rated they are compared to the other 4.

    thought about going on a rant...

    but i'll instead start by asking when anyone referred to dawson, pav or williams as an atg?? boo won't even go there w/ pav (yet) and wwm won't even go there w/ williams (yet).

    secondly, you can find people on this board who will refer to any one of the seven as overrated or frauds. its just how it is.

    MrMagic is right, all should be appreciated for what they bring to the table.

    Silly statement. No one who is worth listening to would classify any of the 1st 3 as ATG. All the fighters listed have their detractors or haters on this forum. Out of the group only Calzaghe could have an argument of being an ATG. Seems like you're a little too sensitive about it.....your agenda is a little too obvious.

    well.....Dawson clearly has P4P level skills and attributes, plus he's undefeated with some good wins, Adamek, Tarverx2, Johnson

    its no stretch to say he's P4P level fighter

    Pavlik....welll, after he beat Taylor in that spectacular fashion who was a top P4P fighter, it's a no brainer why he was considered one as well

    Williams?....hmmm, Marg was a good win as was Quintana, but i dont give much credit for beating Winky, Phillips, or Kolle which were his last 3 wins....so i can see where you're going with this one, but even with that said, i'd still say he can be can considered a top 10 P4P fighter, given the fact that it's the beginning of a new era and the greats fighters are at the end of there careers and either losing or retiring

    and as for the Euro's

    Joe retired at #3 P4P....so......what are you getting at?

    Froch has 3 good wins in a row, he's definitely in the top 15 at the very least

    who has Abraham beaten???? Taylor? Miranda? is that enough to qualify him as a top P4P fighter? i dont think so, but after the tournament, it might be a different story...

    again....who has Kessler beaten?? Andrade was a good win....Mundine and could be considered notable by some but, do you really think his resume hods up? i dont....but like Dawson, i do think he's P4P talent H2H wise

    so think about things objectively hear...most of these guys resumes just dont hold up, but i'd say they're all at the edge of making most peoples list

    with that said, the winner of the Super Six will def. be a top p4p fighter though, thats for sure

    Dawson's beaten 3 different top 10 light heavyweights in is career, and none of them were the best in the division. Pavlik defeated the best Middleweight, but only fought one (possibly 2) other top 10 opponents. That's a pretty low barrier to being ranked in P4P discussions no matter how it gets sliced considering I always hear about resume issues for the latter 4 fighters.
