That's a load of rubbish and you know it, Calzaghe never wanted to fight out of Wales, which is the reason why he never unified till Lacy and Kessler literally made the flight with their belts.

Also, if Hopkins and Jones ducked him in their primes why did they fight him recently?, weren't THEY the ones that pushed for the fight and called him out for it?

unreal isn't it ? has there ever been a bigger mis-match ? Holyfield has got everything going against him, from the state of his mind to his age to the ridiculous height difference. a joke.

If you actually look at Calzaghes record and see how many top 50 ranked guys he beat,he actually beat the exact same ammount as Hopkins did which is 25 There are differences tho, firstly Hopkins has 4 loses and 1 draw on top of his 25 wins plus more of Hopkins top 50 opponents came from the lower divisions.

I believe the difference is that the rematch clause was designed to protect Lewis - not Tyson. Had Lewis lost you would have seen a rematch. The same would have been true with Tarver, too. Had Tarver won the first fight there would be no rematch with Dawson.

not true, unless you mean britain.
and in joe's defence the old adage of high risk, low reward no longer applied after the lacy and kessler wins. he brought cash to the table after those wins.

rematch clause forces dawson to fight. IF dawson is scared of one thing, its a big ass law suit for contract breaking. And thats ok because promoters will sue you for every single penny you have.

Jones fought him for his pension.Hopkins thought with the advantage of it happening in Las Vegas which Calzaghe struggled with and his prefered weight division he could get a win.

Calzaghe is besides the point. Its not like Joe and his people have an offer on the table to Dawson and they're turning him down. And I think its pretty obvious that Joe ain't gonna fight anyone unless they're a PPV draw, champ or not.

But I have little respect for this move by Dawson. And save me with the contractually obligated crap. He was obligated to fight Diaconu and had no problem dropping a belt to take the Tarver fight. Why not fight Diaconu now? This rematch is pointless and bs, especially considering the fight with Glen Johnson was far more competitive and deserving of a rematch. This is an utter ***** move by the Dawson camp, IMO.
